Sad news, I've just seen on TOP that the FSL has left us...
The good captain has been unwell for some time, Rotty ... he does manage to post now and then and we all miss him like mad of course. He had a pretty serious operation some
oh no ... I just checked his face-book page to check the date of the operation and have discovered that, sadly, Tony died just a month ago. It seems I'm the bearer of the worst possible news ... here's a link to his page:- https://www.facebook.com/tony.draper.773
'scuse me while I go and get my tissues.
This from his sister, Sylvia ...
Thank you all for the birthday greetings for yesterday. Sadly I also received the not unexpected news that my brother Tony Draper had passed away that morning. Tony was undoubtedly the brightest of us with a sharp enquiring mind. Articulate and strong willed he had many Facebook friends around the world who called him 'Captain'. He was also a gifted natural artist and an avid reader, introducing me at an early age to the magic of sci-fi/fantasy books. He once wrote a short story in the style of Spike Milligan that had us all crying with laughter. When he wasn't playing the (self taught) guitar he was studying and photographing the stars or delving into the history of his home town Gateshead.
You have left a big hole in the hearts of those who loved you my brother Anthony Hugh Draper.

Re: Tony Draper.
As others have said, a very sad loss . Some, well innumerable actually, memorable posts and somebody who knew about life. Corresponded as few times regarding his love of Marty Robbins and my own.
Now being rightly immortalised on TOP
RIP to the FSL

Despite minor differences I had with Drapes, I respected him very much indeed and learnt a lot about life's realities from him during my early TOP days.
The Admiral has been, and will continue to be, sadly missed. I hope that he went knowing we were all concerned for him.
RIP
+1. Never much read trrab but always fast forwarded to Tony's posts. RIP,Mate

I was so sorry, but not really surprised to hear about FSL's passing. He was never the same after the amputation. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed
