It'll be a real shame if Drapes has fallen off his perch. I enjoyed his posts immensely over at TOP yonks ago.

I've been doing an occasional search of the 'Family Notices' section of the local newspaper but there's nowt there. I hope that's a sign that Tony is still with us.

Sorry to state the bleedin' obvious, but do we know that Tony Draper was his real name?

I hope he's still with us. Enjoyed his pithy one liners!

I believe it is.
He lives next door to his brother.
On TOP somebody has supposedly found two Drapers living next to each other using the appropriate phone book.
Again on TOP A fairly new name offered to ring when they were back in the UK. I have not seen any result of this.
"Blacksheep" has also intimated that he has a Facebook page, something I am not able to verify.

The sum of what I think I know.

I can confirm the above to be a true assessment of the situation.
The last contact on TOP had Tony responding but he declared himself unfit to rejoin communications.
Afternoon peeps, sorry for my long absence, been back in hospital, one has taken a vow to avoid that place as they keep removing bits of me, any way recovering slowly
and getting back on my foot so to speak, speak to you all again when my head works better.
take care
tony.
As some will know he had part of a leg removed and was struggling to cope.

Last posts on his Facebook page were birthday greetings to him in May. Nothing since.

The problem is that Anthony's (Tony's) Brother living next door is called Alan or Andrew or some such.

So which is which?

It is also possible that the two entries relate to the same person, the two houses are symmetrical houses in a terrace, possibly one is used as an office and the other as a residence, hence different phone numbers.

A Google search on those numbers reveals nothing.

I feel that calling would be a little intrusive, particularly if he has passed away and a relative answers the call. I have dialled both numbers and they ring as if they are active, however I did not wait to see if they went to a voicemail or a divert.

Looking at the addresses in Streetview, No 94 has several CCTV cameras over the front door. I recall from some of Tony’s postings that he used to install security CCTV systems, so that would tend to indicate that he lives in 94.

Isn't 'Google' amazing?

When I was a youngster, anyone walking down the street talking into a plastic box would have been taken away and locked in a padded cell, now we can view the front of someone's house (admittedly not yet in real time) without leaving our desk - you could even view it on your plastic box whilste walking down the street (and be directed to the address by 'satnav').

Liiks like an upstairs flat to me. Somewhat impractical for someone with Drapes's recent undercarriage mod methinks, unless he's doing a Tarzan routine.

He would quite certainly be entitled to ground floor accomodation with suitable adaptations such as grab handles. Perhaps he's found a berth on the Main Deck?

There seem to be seasonal greetings going out to the Commander on TOP in TRABB. Perhaps someone is in the know.

Surely it’s not beyond the wit of man for someone living close to knock on the door?

I sent a card to him some weeks ago - to the address on a public website - but didn't get any reply. I do wonder if he is still living there as he mentioned on TOP the need for some changes after his modification programme. I suspect - and may be wrong - that he is now living somewhere else, possibly warden-supervised accommodation.

I haven't been to that area since me mum died many years ago, so I don't have any contacts who could do the 'knock'- ironic really as when my mum was alive, I used to drive along the A167 which goes past his front door.
