C16 - if that is a Sea Vixen in the FAA ad it should have read "Die as an officer in the Royal Navy"............

Yes, it's a Sea Vixen with a poor representation of a Buccaneer in the background. 145 Sea Vixen's were built. In 12 years of service 55 were involved in major accidents resulting in the loss of the airframe. 30 of those accidents were fatal, resulting in the death of 51 aircrew, one of whom joined the RN on the same day as me and we were good friends. The airframe loss rate was 38% and the fatality rate within those losses was 54.5%. I know of one widow of a Sea Vixen pilot who went on to marry another one and he too was killed.
