I happen to believe that the 'Wheels on Water" show is not within the regulation.

Which specific regulation do you think they have contravened Seen?

I must admit I too was dubious when they, the nucleus of the team now known as The Lions, started this stunt over a decade ago, but, to be fair, not an aircraft has been lost, and they have been performing this formation every since then. The SACAA gave them clearance way back when!

The chain stunt also begs many questions I guess! I have seen aircraft perform while tethered with ribbons which simply tear if the flying is not accurate, but a flailing chain represents a threat to both aircraft and to those on the ground too!

I wonder if they can release the chains. If not if one makes a forced landing they all do.

I am apt to ask them about that.
