Sounds a bit like the Helios 522 incident, assuming they were high enough for lack of oxygen to take them out. Aircraft keeps doing what it was told to until it runs out of fuel.

Wasn't there also a similar (ie involving an executive jet) in the States about 22 years ago? The decompression part it is.

Isn't a bit unusual to have a decompression part so late in flight?

There was a "crash investigators" programme about it on Finnish tv.

Out of Jerez to' an undeclared destination'?? Family of 3 aboard. No-one visible in the cockpit. Very odd.

I believe undeclared destinations are becoming more common due to flight following apps allowing people to track celebs, etc. There may be nothing suspicious in that.

Many business/corporate jets are high rollers in the cruise. Not much time to react to sudden decompression at altitudes about 30,000 feet. This table of useful consciousness gives some inkling as to the margins...

Oh Lord TGA did you have to remind us of that. We and I am sure many more on this forum had to go much higher than that.

Surely oxygen was available on this jet.

I think the standard was a rapid decompression in the chamber from 25k to 65k+ for the Lightning. The smell of Ruddlesfart was amazing....................

I guess we did 43k. North Luffenham was not the best location for this exercise given the local beer. We had one chap who blew up but nothing came out. He recovered. Hate to be one of those doctors who do it all the time.

If you do too much of that high or low pressure stuff you up your chances of a stroke or brain damage by factors that are still under dispute. Keep breathing, and look at the mortality figures for divers in the North Sea, for example (part of my business). Shocking actually!

I discovered my ability to do mental math, such as square roots, diminishes as the main sign of hypoxia for me. The same problem also occurs with fatigue, so I still use this as a test of my brain's ability to function effectively.
