I wish to claim that I have flown solo around the world
- indeed by those standards you have, although not 'open cockpit' I trust :))
Our Trace has to have Ewald along to rebuild it every time she prangs it.
- actually you will find that
Our Trace has to have Ewald along to help her fly/navigate/etc/etc on her 'solo' achievements

In the wheelchair as an underslung load, obviously.

Of course! Only as a 'camera man' or 'engineer', though. That guy is amazing! I see he wants to fly to the North Pole next, and tried in 2015 but had to abandon it in Germany due to a broken wrist.

I am sure that BOAC would be delighted to hear that Ms Curtis is/was on Woman's Hour this morning (15/06/2016) talking about her achievements. I am sure he will be forced to take to iPlayer catch up to listen if he hasn't already... :)

I was, of course, stirring and being just slightly ironic... o:-)

I listened to a little of it, thought of your ire and was momentarily amused, and then became irritated with her wittering and switched off.

Marketing - Perception is greater than reality.

And she is very very good at it.

- I was inexcusably slow to pick up on your news, MA - in being a Women's Hour listener', is there in fact a 'softer side' to you that you are hinting at? ;;)

Oh Boac, I listen to Woman's Hour, The Archers, the Shipping forecast and I even occasionally tune into Radio 3! I am often accused of being soft, soft in the head that is... =))

Was Ewald holding up the prompt cards?

It was a bit of a female mutual benefit show I am afraid to say...

To preserve MA's image as hardman, I think TC-T appeared on Midweek, broadcast an hour before Woman's Hour. Raised my head from under duvet on sickbed to listen to Libby Purves (we share a birthday but she's older, meow) and guests. Thought the aviatrix avoided mention of the s (solo) word but my fuddled brain might have misheard.

To preserve MA's image as hardman
- a noble effort, TB, but remember he thought it was Women's Hour =))

In truth life is a hard business!

I must admit that I didn't hear the beginning of the programme and switched off before the end... (assumption being the cause of me being slightly uncertain of my position)!

Time is fleeting, man is mortal and what is an ETA anyway? :)

Thanks for setting me right Tall Bird, I owe you one! I shall listen to three full Woman's Hours next week as a penance I promise Boac!

MA, perhaps it was 'Listen with Mother' a lot of fantasy on there if I remember correctly.

'Listen With Mother' was a bit before my time Ex-Ascot, not least because I was in my nappies in South Africa at the time.

Nonetheless in the spirit of knowledge I sought out the programme and, my gosh, the woman keeps talking about 'balls' and tossing them up in the air playing with them. I am not kidding.... :ymblushing: =))

"You'll never know where I am going to hide your balls. Were your balls high up or low down? Dance and play with them again...!" (for shame...).... :-o
