Overpowered?

I assume NTSB would get involved in any investigation into the cause.

That depends... I'm guessing this is registered as an experimental and as such, the NTSB does not need to get involved. Unless I'm mistaken of course. The engine was an ex-King Air PT6 IIRC and as such may not have been on an official maintenance/inspection schedule. Because of that, this doesn't really have an impact on other PT6 operators.
