Parliament now knows about Orkney's excess of power but will they do anything about it?TheGreenGoblin wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 12:06 pmLike Jackie Weaver, you Orcadians, have the "power!"
You need more cables to help out in Scotland and ultimately, here in England.

Orkney Council will be punished by the SNumPtie gumment because they have indicated that they'd rather deal directly with the British Government than the Jockistani ersatz one.
Shetland, too, is being taught a lesson that their feelings which are similar to those of Orkney will have negative consequences for the people of the islands. The Fueherin has the power to delay development of Cambo and thus deprive Shetland of jobs and tax revenue. She's venal and she's ruthless.

Re: How 'green' is blue hydrogen?
Yes, but but the hydrogen produced on the Orkneys would be green as possible given the use of excess wind generated power to produce hydrogen though electrolysis. Of course the power will have to be stored in batteries and they are far from green but that is another story.
Overall the push for electric power is nowhere as green as is being touted by the chauvinists wedded to whatsoever their own specific preferred electical paradigm is.
