AMS fuel problem

#1 Post by Woody » Wed Jul 24, 2019 8:13 pm

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has been affected by a fault in the aircraft fueling system on Wednesday.

Aircraft Fuel Supply, the company that controls the aircraft fuel supply at Europe’s third busiest airport, experienced an electrical issue in its system. Therefore, it is not possible to refuel arriving and departing aircraft.

As a result, over 180 flights have been cancelled. According to Eurocontrol, the landing rate has been reduced due to ramp congestion on the ground at the airport. Furthermore, several flights diverted to nearby airports, including Dusseldorf and Rotterdam.

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport said in a statement that the problem will most likely last into the evening. However, flights will be affected throughout the day. Passengers are advised to check with their airline. Dutch flag-carrier KLM offers passengers options to rebook or refund their flights.
When all else fails, read the instructions.
