We actually used a vulcan bomb bay as a paint store for a few years at St Athan

Just re-reading this thread and I noted the reference to "on the wireless". Last week in London I heard an announcement referring to"the Tannoy". That took me back.

Wireless. A female airwomen took an aircraft wireless into the radio maintenance depot, and banged it down on the bench. Wot's wrong with that, asked the Chief Tech ? It's fcuked, replied the airwomen. Well put the little bu**er over there, then. He was then put on a charge for using intemperate language. True story.
