Con Air

#1 Post by flynverted » Fri Aug 03, 2018 12:56 am

Interesting story, pre 9-11...
Was working at KRIC & got a call on the wireless from me boss to meet him on the cargo ramp. I rocked up in my fuel truck and marshalled a con air 727-200 onto the cargo ramp. Chocked the nlg & connected ground power...
After I connected the single point fuel nozzle I looked up and there was about 50 feds around the plane...
As I was fuelling the 727-200 3 busses rocked up and started unloading pax from the busses to the 72-200... Pax (crims) were cuffed and shackled and led that way from the busses to the 727-200...
Dunno wot they did, but I don't think it was worth it...

Could they all meet the 90 seconds escape standard in their shackles?

Probably faster if they were shackled together. The first one jumps and the rest all follow in quick succesion. Guess they had no hand baggage to try to retrieve.

Do folk remember the late (?) Conair from TOP?

Thanks for the correction WF. Thought so. Seemed a really good guy.

Con pilot was a gem.
He migrated here under a different nom-de-plume but was fading rapidly so didn't post a lot.
