1. ZA Law is similar to Scotland. The offer is binding.
2. This guy never paid anything, just made the offer.
3. He had no money, he was the proverbial man of straw!

Now contractually bound to move out by June 30th. Looking for an abandoned 738 to squat in...would accept a Max in extremis...

Delta is parking 777s. Maybe you could talk them into leaving one near you.

Lots of BA metal in Bournemouth for a sea view, or Kemble for some country side :-bd

I'm surprised they'd park it near the sea.

As for the Max, just check that the nose is well-supported and unlikely to drop.

Buy a 'mobile home' - I mean an RV rather than a static one.

Possibly the OFSOs go to Sunbury as the Mem' found a flat there she likes. Looks right out on the river. Shops and transport near by.

So OFSO, where'd you both end up?

We ended up with the only option being to squat with UK relatives. With the best will in the world, not easy. Saturday back to the large villa in Spain for a few months to relax and damn all Estate Agents to hell and back.

Here's a lovely place.

156 acres. One careful lady owner. Accommodation no longer required :p, so a snip at $1,070,750.

With those high ceilings, the cost of heating in the New England winter, might be expensive!

Did anyone else spot that that property was where Ms Maxwell hid?

It was rather prominently featured here.

That was my first thought too!

High ceilings; wall-fulls of glazing; no visible radiators.

Oodles of woodland for firewood though. First thing I'd do would be install a proper central heating system and a great big **** Fröling S4 logwood boiler.

I still can't believe that such a lovely place is only a million bucks.

No mains sewers
No mains water
Oil fired heating

On what an Englishman would call an un-adopted road.
Looking on Giggle Earth, the property is on a 1.5 mile stretch of dirt road. The tar terminates at the southern end, at what appears to be a municipal border. Possibly a reason the present owner bought it.

I should think its value is tainted by the previous owner, although to some sickminded people that might increase the value as a curiousity.

I've got no mains sewers. A septic (pardon the word) tank with adequate soakaway works just fine.

That property has got its own borehole. Very common in rural USA. No problem there either.

Sawyer Road looks good to me. In the US, it wouldn't cost much to seal it, especially when you amortise the cost by including no longer having to re-grade the road every five years as I do on my long gravel driveways. Looks a bit less than half a mile (615 metres in modern money) to me, not one and a half miles. No big deal.

If her lawyers don't snaffle it at a price of a cent on her dollar (which they will!), I'd take it.
