Re: The US Hamster Wheel
And you can do nothing but lie back and think of England when Washington comes calling.
Gotta sting just a bit...
Perhaps Angela will take you back?
Or that Winnie the Pooh guy?

What's his plan? A Russian doesn't take a dump without a plan.

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
The problem is way too many Democrats in our electorate, as Plum inadvertently points out.
Re: The US Hamster Wheel
Thats democracy for you, sometimes you just do not get things your way!
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.
Re: The US Hamster Wheel
It is possible to tell Washington when they are not welcome, they will look really hurt and threaten 'consequences' but in a few years they will be back knocking (politely) on your door.brickhistory wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 10:10 pmAnd you can do nothing but lie back and think of England when Washington comes calling.

Trump was not democratically elected to POTUS.

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
Really? Please elaborate. Seems to me he got enough electoral votes to be POTUS. That's all that’s needed.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".
Re: The US Hamster Wheel
So many Americans will tell us that the USA is a republic not a democracy, are they all wrong? Am I wrong for believing them?

The Chump has apparently said he would delete his Twatter account 'in a heartbeat' if it weren't for 'fake news'. Hmm. Bit of a non-sequitur there! He discovers what it is like being between a rock and hard place.

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
Nope!
He got enough college votes. Not popular votes, as would be needed in a democracy.
USA is a fascist country, based on the model of the Roman Empire.
Democracy is an Athenian thing. Very different to fascism.

Increasing my popcorn order. Twitter strikes again. Hope he's got those F35s ready to strike Twitter HQ.
Tune in now to 'Messenger for Kids' for the next Shite House statement https://messengerkids.com/ NB It IS safely controlled by grown-ups, so we should be alright.

My admiration for Mr Trump knows no bounds this morning,
"When the looting starts the shooting starts", snappy and authoritarian, why can't our own politicians be like this, I see Boris wringing his hands, ever so humble, in front of BBC interviewers and the like, we need someone like Mr Trump to exercise power in such an impressive way.

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
Hear hear! Let's get him to take us over - we need some entertainment right now. Bojo could always ask Dom, as long as Dom can see to shoot, of course.

I was in Boston Ma. for 3 weeks during his campaign.
It was quite an education!

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
It seems that despite kissing the Chump's arse, Zuckerberg's Faecesbook is also 'affected' by the toothless 'Executive Order'. I'm getting low on popcorn.....
Re: The US Hamster Wheel
The Order,as is normal, will get challenged in Court.More often than not,Trump's orders do remain in effect.
The debate regarding what Twitter and Facebook are has been going on for some time and up to now they have wanted things both ways.They tell us they are only social comment platforms but they also edit and control what is said which many feel makes them publishers and as such liabel to be prosecuted.
My personal view is that if they control content and sell advertising they are publishers.

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
boac, are you gulping down the popcorn in sympathy with our US cousins or because the ‘Hamster Wheel’ is slowly becoming a cinematic spectacle?
I would have thought being a true Brit, ex-forces an’ all that, you’d be at home on the edge of your chair eating potato crisps and quaffing beer?
Popcorn is one of those strange foodstuffs (pun intended) which I always believed was an American invention;
https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dicti ... sh/popcorn
I note with some dismay that the original, sorry, orange, ingredient and it’s treatment are remarkably similar to this fine food, also a US invention which has or had medicinal qualities in the psychiatric field;

Please put our minds at ease and confirm this is not the reason why your consumption of toasted flakes is so high, presumably in a vain attempt “to clear the mind of sinful thoughts”?!

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
The youngsters have always insisted on popcorn to watch comedy shows, so I thought it appropriate - that there Trump is really funny, isn't he?

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
Fairy nuff, if the kids want popcorn for comedy, that’s a good cause!
Clips like this have been known to make us laugh, but then to cry;
P S. The only “pull-it surprise” that I recall was WTC7 building nearly 20 years ago, have I got that right?
