Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Reading the BBC website just now, an article has appeared suggesting that the Wagner forces are, possibly, taking up residence outside Azipovichy.
I looked up where this is and it is in Belarus, to the north of Kiev.
Is this perhaps what saturday's manoevres was really about.
I am not by nature a conspiracy theorist.

Lukashenko has said he is giving them a base in Belarus, and he hopes to use them to retrain the Belarussian army.

Strike on a Russian army site in the northern suburbs of Donetsk City.
It is here
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Okean ... ?entry=ttu
Note the camouflage netting visible towards the end of the video, on the right.
This was used to cover visiting vehicles in an attempt to disguise the change of use (See first 2 seconds of the video). I am guessing it's a disused school, from the design and surrounding area.

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Not supplying Storm-Z units (suicide squads full of criminals) with more than a couple of days food and 4 magazines makes military sense when you are throwing them into human wave attacks with some hope of subsequent progress by regular troops.
It does not make sense when they are on the defensive, unless you expect the ground to be captured by the Ukes anyway, and are just trying to buy time.
It does not work attritionally, as the Ukes are methodically using arty, tanks and grenades to clear the trench lines, and losing almost no one.
So the Russians must be either running out of supplies, or the means to transport them, or both.
No medical help for the wounded either. This also makes no sense militarily on the defensive.
And this is Pryutne, the now-salient at the weakest point of the Zaporozhian front. The one place that Russians themselves have said is really important not to lose.
And it's also really close to many supply depots.
Or, at least, it was till the Ukes started blatting them with Storm Shadow and the like.
As I said recently, the Russians could collapse here tomorrow, or it may take months, but I think this indicates it's closer to the former than the latter.

That video of the Storm Z Unit is very telling indeed.
The book Prigozhin is holding is called 'Colonel Nobody'. I thought at first it was a Russian Translation of Marquez' book 'Nobody Writes to the Colonel', but it's written by Alexei Sukonkin, a Russian whom I've never heard of.

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Great spot!
There's a rough synopsis here
https://vk.com/wall-167635708_5555?lang=en
It describes Russian military intelligence, but it's applicable to a large number of organisations worldwide these days.
Reminds me of Viktor Suvorov*'s books in the 1980s, e.g. 'Aquarium', about the Soviet GRU, which I read avidly.
There is of course a third option to either trying to change the system from within (and inevitably failing), or accepting the failing system as is and exploiting it, and that is to get out of the system.
Much easier said than done!
* Real name Vladimir Bogdanovich Rezun, defected to UK in 1978. Sentenced to Death in absentia, hence the psuedonym.

Russian Intelligence is pretty good.
Problem for them is, those in power don't listen.
Not only the Russians have that problem!
Arguably the CIA is the opposite.

Ukrainians reporting that the strike on the Ria Pizzaria in Kramatorsk was an Iskander SSM, not a Kh-22 ASM.
Iskander has a nominal CEP of 30m, and the Russians claimed it hit the intended target, both of which mean the Ria was the target.

Seems a lot of people have the same problem as me today, including CNN, who are investigating.
Maybe it's a North American thing.
Thanks for the info.
