Hey Fox
Isn’t it remarkable that White House staffers, who have worked closely with Biden, are stating his mental acuity has declined.

Almost seems to me they are just jumping on the bandwagon as they must have known this for the past 4 years but just kept quiet.

Anyone who dared question Biden’s mental state, was deemed a conspiracy theorist. It was obvious to anyone, not suffering from TDS, that Biden was not mentally present 4 years ago and his mental acuity has just been getting worse. Funny how these staffers are just “realizing” and seeing it now.

Also, all of the Dems that want Biden to resign have a vested interest in doing so. They know that D voter turnout in November may not be large as there is no enthusiasm for Biden. This would result in a lot of “concerned” Dem members of the House and Senate losing their seats to Republicans. The only thing they are concerned with is keeping their job.

It is impossible to get someone to understand something when their job depends on them not understanding it.
Which was the case for the staffers understanding Joe's condition till the post-debate Democrat meltdown.
Now their job future depends on them understanding it, and suddenly everyone notices that Connecticut Ave NW leads to Damascus* Acts 9:3-9 ;)))

I cannot claim originality.
Upton Sinclair, failed candidate for Governor of California in the 1930s (when jobs were few and far between), was the originator in this form, but the concept is a lot older.

"It's 3 a.m., and your children are safe and asleep. Who do you want answering the (White House) phone?"
Hillary Clinton campaign ad from 2008 (aimed at Barack Obama, as it happens)

"Hi, this is the White House, we're asleep right now, but Joe will be back with you in 7 hours. Please leave your name and nuclear launch threat after the tone......"

The democrats and the media continue to tear themselves apart.
It is now possible to find every opinion from No One But Joe, to He Must Go Now.
One source points out that none of the Black politicians in the Democratic Party are calling for Joe to go, and it is stated that this is because they know that Black voters, especially in key States like Pennsylvania,
will not vote for anyone else.

There will come a point pretty soon, with the Nomination looming up, when they have to start attacking each other's opinions.

President Joe Biden is given detailed instructions with pictures and large font instructing him on how to enter and leave venues ahead of planned events, it has emerged.

https://www.axios.com/2024/07/07/biden- ... ts-prepare

So many things that are frustrating with this.

First of all, the staffers were hiding this for years while it was in plain sight.

Second, the media were complicit in this. Had the media given Biden just 20% of the same scrutiny it gave Trump, this would have been unearthed years ago. Yet the media wonders why the public has such little faith in their reporting,

Third, this speaks volumes about those staffers and Dems in power. It was here no, evil see no evil, but after the debate against Trump there was no more hiding the lack and decline of Biden’s mental acuity. Now, they are all distancing themselves from Biden because the tide is turning. However, they had no problem holding up the charade that Biden has cognitively been at the helm all 4 years.

In many ways this is no surprise at all.
The vast majority will go along with any kind of BS to keep their job, not just in America.
And an awful lot of people can convince themselves that the end justifies the means.

The real problems are two-fold.
The first is that that governments asking, or even requiring, the population to 'do the right thing' is now largely ineffective, purely because of their own example.
People will do what they want to suit their ends and their job preservation, and the Government can go 'Russian Warship' itself.
Mass civilian disobedience is very difficult to fix, especially when the police and armed services are collapsing.

The second is that the lying and faulty reasoning of the media to support their positions makes it functionally useless.
It's not just the Right who aren't consuming media, but the Left too.
Everything is now a surprise to the media because of that faulty reasoning and subject selection, so the media now has no predictive use.
And "Wolf!" has been cried far too many times to fix that either.

I think it's summed up as the choice between a rock and a hard place. I would prefer someone who isn't either of the two realistic options to be in the top job,and I suspect anyone who isn't a die-hard Trump supporter would say the same.

It is truly worrying that there are so many people in the US who think Trump should be the next President. He is a convicted criminal and obviously totally incapable of logical thought in view of his comments on 'Project 2025'.

It is truly worrying that there are so many people in the US who think that Biden should be the next President. He is plainly too old and probably infirm.

It is truly worrying that there are two such things to be worried about. Why can the US not come up with 2 reasonable Republican and Democrat candidates?

Can't say I'm impressed with any of the options in my country either, at any level of Government.
I thus prefer my current level of local government - none - as does everyone else around here.
In the nearby towns (that's 'nearby' for rural Canada), there are only just enough councillors to keep the lights on, and the water and sewage pumping. Half have no mayors as nobody stood for election.

..and the fact that all of the candidates for senior office just about everywhere are either corrupt or incompetent, or more usually both, would tend to indicate that this is not a bug, it's a feature. Cui bono?

..and this is why candidates are corrupt and/or incompetent
(and also why Biden won't go quietly).

Latest polls (Emerson) show Trump vs likely and hypothetical Democrat nominees
vs Biden +3
vs Harris +6
vs Newsom +8
vs Whitmer +10

In Biden's letter to the Party earlier this week,
“I wouldn’t be running again if I did not absolutely believe I was the best person to beat Donald Trump in 2024.
We had a Democratic nomination process and the voters have spoken clearly and decisively.”
..and whatever else, the polls do show that.
Except "best person to beat Donald Trump" is actually "lose by least to Donald Trump"

So, looks like the Dems will lose whoever they pick.
And anyone who rocks the boat will likely lose party backing
“I wish I was more brave,” said one Democratic state party chair who thinks Biden should step aside. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because they fear retaliation from the president’s camp.
“I would be crucified by them if I spoke out of line,” the chair continued. “I know when you get out of line they all of a sudden have a shift of priorities and your races, your state is no longer on the map.”
..and this is even though they need every toss-up Senate seat to stop the Republicans taking over the Senate.
At the moment, polling indicates they will lose a Texas seat, putting the Senate at 50-50 with the VP having a deciding vote in a tie.
Looks like, above all else, the Dems as a party are suicidally vindictive.

I've never been so embarrassed as watching Bidens faux pas's on TV. Utterly cringeworthy. Election handed to Trump on a plate.

As OFSO says, today's performance was an embarrassment. One slip of the tongue may be excused if it wasn't such a large one, but the attempt to squirm out of it just made it worse.

The polls are showing a continuing hemorrhaging of the vote for Biden..
..and yet most of the US media has now swung back to dismissing concerns about Biden, and attacking Trump.

Trump has found the perfect environment to avoid the press, he's playing golf daily.

On the betting odds, the Democratic nominee now has Harris with best odds, then Biden, then...Michelle Obama!

NEW: Three Biden officials directly involved in his re-election tell @nbcnews
his chances of winning are zero.

“He needs to drop out,” one Biden campaign official said. “He will never recover from this.”

In all this mess regarding the gun killing on set by Baldwin (case now 'dismissed' by the judge), was it ever established why he pointed the weapon anywhere near a person or has that been lost in the long grass?

Wasn’t that the scene being shot (no pun intended)?
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".
