I agree there Mrs Ex-A.

Once again thank you for bringing such articles to attention.

Hancock has lost the plot again, that is if he ever had it, now bringing "party politics" into the Greater Manchester fiasco. Does he not realise that it is politicians from both Tory and Labour that are united against him?

No one believes him and why should they? The man is a complete joke.

Beauticians closed, hairdresers open. At least today. Have haircuts booked for tomorrow. Will see. I was wondering how France could get so many infections in one day, 30,000, considering they have the "rule of six". Then I saw it's not a " rule" but is advisory/voluntary.

Daily Mail: From the very same paper on 14th. Confusing, isn't it? Which Daily Mail do you believe?

After 6 weeks lockdown I was unfit and putting on weight. From May (FT for a game of soldiers,) I resumed dig walks. A neighbour had taken her out for an hour a day but she put on a good extra weight too. Since then I have been doing a couple of hours walks a day and lost over a stone and a half. Clothes that didn't fit, fit. Clothes that fitted now don't.

My BMI is still on the high side so I will need to assure my colorectal nurse that there is nothing untoward in the lost.

"The government can, however, find close to £7,000 per day per consultant working on its calamitous test-and-trace programme. Alas, we have seen nor heard nothing for a month from test-and-trace mastermind Dido Harding, who is assumed to be living under this administration’s vast Shitness Protection Programme. If only we could have a Nightingale government. Surely – surely! – you could sling up something better than this in about a week." (Guardian)

Ludicrous. Cafes which had tables outside now only doing take-aways. So everyone standing outside or sitting on public benches drinking coffee and eating croissants. Beautician shops closed, hairdressers open. Madness.

Makes sense to me re the Restaurants, they are now outside and a bit more spread out than inside or barely outside in a pararsol.

Bob, I think you miss the point. Organised spacing, indoors or out if done by the restaurant against random seating on benches, walls etc with no separation.

A relative, lovely man, has gone to Ireland to be with his mother, in the last days of her life, multiple forms of cancer, spread over her entire body. Only the hospital refuses to let him see her, even after 14 days of quarantine, as coming from London he might give her Covid-19. Words fail me.

Words fail me. That is inhumane. And totally illogical. :-q :(

Sympathies to your relative. :YMHUG:

General stupidity is not reserved for Corona cases. A few years ago a wife's very elderly uncle, in hospital, suffering from Parkinson's plus generally gaga, never left his bed, was selected by the NHS to have a knee prosthesis installed. Never knew if it worked as he still didn't leave his bed and during recovery from surgery the hospital staff forget his medication for Parkinson's. Died shortly afterwards not knowing where he was or what was going on.

Watching the UK flexing like a whore as it attempts to 'control' Coronabollocks is excruciating.

When all this is 'over' the bug will have had its way. That was inevitable.

The destruction of the economy on the other hand, was optional.

And this is well written too; https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/arti ... giest.html

I;m so glad that I am living in a third World country that hasn't lost it like it seems that the British government has. :O3

If you thought my post 2672 was an example of stupidity, how about this. My relative's dying mother was last week brought out in a wheelchair so her sons, one from England but been in Eire over 14 days, could stand on the grass and talk to her. As they were leaving, a hospital Porter was digging up the ground where they had been standing and throwing the soil in a skip for contaminated item disposal.
