Re: The US Hamster Wheel
I remember my days as a student, early 1970's, working three part-time jobs, and trying to keep my college grades high enough to avoid being drafted and sent to Viet Nam. During that time I took free cheese and peanut butter, and whatever else the Agriculture Department was giving away.
There were some days that all I had in the pantry was my long loaf of USDA cheddar. I tried to maintain a stash of macaroni and I mac and cheesed through many days, thought it was delicious, high quality, and at almost zero cost, affordable. The peanut butter was excellent, too. I thought it was better than any peanut butter I could buy at the supermarket. It was all free to me, but somebody, somewhere, was picking up the tab. I learned that in business school, and never forgot it.

To my way of thinking getting the funds through the Pentagon would appear to be fair and reasonable. Better to pay to protect your own borders than assault other folks borders.

Amusing to see that the very military that is 'expected' to support the Chump is smuggling illegals across the border.
Re: The US Hamster Wheel
i see the Chump has found the Mexican money in the US Defence budget.

Nice to witness your scrambling to try to paint the dreary picture that is your world under the Trump administration. Meanwhile, the rest of us in the United States bask in the sunshine of a great economy, the world's issues being addressed, resetting of the trade table, energy independence, tax reform - it's all good.
I'm interested in which Democrat of the 20 or so running meets your approval. I find every one of them significantly lacking, and I'm quite wary of the Left Wing 'Squad' taking over the Democrat ideology.
I was energized watching the Mueller hearings this week. What fools the Democrats made of themselves.

- Oh dear!, Ben. You may be a self-proclaimed genius, but your literacy skills are sadly lacking, as we have frequently seen on this site. I have clearly stated the answer to that several times (on this site too).BEN wrote:I'm interested in which Democrat of the 20 or so running meets your approval.

Given my many failings, may I ask you again which one you endorse?
Re: The US Hamster Wheel
No - don't be lazy.
Re: The US Hamster Wheel
Ben, you are a 1%'er so you should pay someone to find that information.
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.

It seems beyond belief that Mueller, after an inquiry lasting over a period of two years, and many millions of dollars spent, had to have explained to him who Fusion GPS was, activities of whom started the ball rolling for the inquiry.

The 1%ers are not constant names. There are always some moving in, some moving out. If Ben was in the 1% he certainly isn't now, as like Bezos and the Zuck he wouldn't waste precious time by posting on this site.
I'm sure Bernie and Pocahontas have their underpaid staff to do things like what you asked Ben to do.

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
Would it be racist of me to ask, given Trump's description of Baltimore under a predominately black city council, as "a rat and rodent infested mess", to ask how white and back administered cities in the US compare ? Or are no statistics available because even in collection of data that would suggest bias ?

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
Your best guide to the worst cities is that they are democrat-run, rather than the race of the mayor. It's hard to blame the mess on the democrats, but it would be true to say that voting in a democrat mayor doesn't fix it. Blacks in America tend to vote 90% democrat, so a city with a higher proportion of blacks is more likely to have a democrat mayor.
In respect of Baltimore, the place is a murderous sh!thole because there is very little effective policing. I have been studying this, and it dates back to the death on Freddie Gray in 2015. The State's Attorney for Baltimore backed by Mayor Stephanie R-B leapt to charge the six police officers involved, in what many said at the time was a rushed and excessive procedure. They were backed by the US AG who started federal procedures. All were subsequently cleared and 5 are now suing for malicious prosecution. The immediate effects were that the police stopped proactive policing, and the murder rate doubled. Both continue to the present day. The clear-up rate is so low it's been classified, but is estimated at under 20% for the most serious cases, and under 5% for routine offences like robbery. The State's Attorney is black, as was the US AG, the mayor, and Freddie Gray.
Freddie Gray was a minor criminal who was stopped in a high crime area for possession of a switchblade, an area that the State's Attorney had insisted more police were deployed in a few weeks beforehand precisely to start picking people up for this sort of thing. Essentially, the police were punished for doing their job, so they've stopped doing it.

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
I found this study of America's 100 most dangerous cities for violent crime which placed Baltimore in 6th place. I was surpsised that several places that I considered generally benign, and I've been to just about all of them, made the dangerous list. The methodology the study used, to me, was somewhat simplistic in that it lumped all categories of violent crime together, equating murder with assault, for example, with equal weight. I think if a similar study only measured murder, the results might be altered considerably.

Also of note is that the 10 most dangerous cities all had Democrat mayors. There was no demographic information about the populations of the dangerous cities.

All the data you want on Baltimore homicides.
https://homicides.news.baltimoresun.com/
There are quite a few recent ones of Unknown race, but I don't know any white guys called Jaquan or Donte.
39 homicides in the last 30 days.

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
Slasher, the Jericho Green vid you posted reflects a man who has lived the nightmare and saw it for what it is, the result of lack of law enforcement, poor schools, the devastation caused by 'The Great Society', corrupt politicians who are re-elected over and over, and anyone daring to point out the effects is 'racist'. Baltimore's story is the same as Detroit's and a dozen other once thriving cities, all run by Democrats who created the mess and continue the damage to keep their gravy train going. While Jericho is cognizant of the scam, and it's important that a black man perceives and shouts out the truth, but there are too few black men like him today.
So President Trump points out the obvious and condemns one of the most powerful Congressional perpetrators practicing this evil enterprise and he's condemned from nearly every quarter as a racist. That's how the news seems to be covered these days and in my view too many gullible people are swayed by that, but not Jericho Green.

Re: The US Hamster Wheel
Never mind running a city, most democrat politicians couldn't find their @ss with both hands.
Here's a picture of one trying..

Ben and Fox yes.
I like following Tim Pool for analysis and intelligent insight as to the goings on in US politics, and Jericho Greene who says it like it damn is. One would either have to have one's head completely up one's arse or an illegal immigrant to be a Dem voter.
