Not that.
We are cornering Russia with NATOs relentless push East- I think Putin is really saying 'enough' in his own way.
We won the Cold War, we don't need to win it again.

Biden has the answer...
Biden Vows That If Russia Invades Ukraine, U.S. Will Invade One Country Of Equivalent Value

So should we appease them, if they decide to invade Ukraine... another corrupt state, no worse than the UK?

Well Gob, I for one have had enough of us sticking our oar in where it doesn't belong.
It didn't belong in Iraq, or in Afghanistan and see how that ended up.
Russia is a big dog. They are giving us a warning.
'No further East'.
We should heed it, as I said earlier- we won the Cold War, we don't need to win (or fight) it again.

I hear you Atom, and don't necessarily disagree with you man, but we are in the playground here. If a bully pushes you, have to knock his teeth out unless you want to suffer in perpetuity. Which is insane in this case of course...AtomKraft wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 6:55 pmWell Gob, I for one have had enough of us sticking our oar in where it doesn't belong.

We must be cognicent fighters...
We live in a terribly frightening world at the moment with the worst of men and women in power... I see perdition and misery ahead...

Aren't we supposed to be worrying about China?

John, we should worry about our own values... (at best, and at worst)...
I would rather live in New Zealand, than **** Russia, China or North Korea...

Do you know that living in North Korea would not be too bad if you were in the lucky top 0.1%, like much of the rest of the world really.TheGreenGoblin wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 7:24 pm

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Remember all the hysteria about Trump being a warmonger who would start WW3? Before I'm accused of being a fan of the orange balloon I should point out that I'm not and I'm even less a fan of the 'dotard' Biden.
Sorry America, you'll have to produce better candidates for the next election but I think it will be Chump versus someone inadequate to counter his bluster.
What will cause Putin to wind his neck in? An interesting situation to be sure.

FD2, it is not often that I would dare say this to man like you, for whom I have the greatest respect, but Trump also made this this **** possible. He made us a morally weak...FD2 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 7:32 pmRemember all the hysteria about Trump being a warmonger who would start WW3? Biden is going to starve Putin with nothing more than surgical strikes at Russian trade and finances. Cold War redux.FD2 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 7:32 pmRemember all the hysteria about Trump being a warmonger who would start WW3? As I said, I'm not a fan, in the least. The only thing that can be said of him is that he doesn't appear to be suffering from dementia, yet.

"but Trump also made this this **** possible. He made us a morally weak..." How so? maybe you feel that way, but there was some 70 million Americans voted for him, certainly no improvement with what the world has to put up with as president of America now.

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Gob, I know what you mean about standing up to a bully, but although I'm a Brit, I can see Putins' side of this.
His Country is quite literally surrounded by US Bases, and in the West, NATO moves ever closer.
He's got to do something- I mean, what did the US do when Soviet weaponry appeared nearby on Cuba? If Ukraine joins NATO they will be much closer (well, touching) than Cuba.
With Bullies it's also wise to remember that "The bigger they are, the further they throw you!"
The only way we (NATO) can stand against Russia, is by nuking them. I know this because I worked in a CP and that is what we always did back then. We were always the first to throw nukes.
