Solely in an effort to stop Mr Farage dying of alcohol poisoning, I have just spent $25 on beer which I shall nobly drink myself, on his behalf ;)))

Can’t wait to see Annunsieta, who’s not one of the elite :D , sinking a few pints down her local.

Meanwhile the odds are now on a Corbyn win by 60 seats should there be an immediate election,
My reading of the forecast is that the Tory Party are liable to loose 60 seats.
If these are all won by the Communists Socialists this would mean a majority of the order of 120!

Might I point out the only sensible suggestions I have yet seen from any British politicians on Brexit
We will Send Noel Edmonds to negotiate Brexit because he understands Deal or No Deal.
There will be no need for a backstop to the Brexit negotiations. We’ll have Alec Stewart as wicket-keeper.
The more informed will realise that the existing policy to Legalise Broccoli is incompatible with EU membership, and therefore the UK must leave the EU.

Since JC has come up, the policy there is...
We shall keep the Falklands and Give Jeremy Corbyn to the Argentinians.

Despite impressions you may have gained to the contrary, the Official Monster Raving Loony Party is not in power, yet.
You can change that!

I did think, after reading the above, about suggesting you become the leader as you seem to have traits which align with the parties name......

But then it occurred to me that they were pretending in name only............

The celebratory pissup and fireworks display chez Plum Tower is now a fixture for the evening of Oct 31, regardless of what the arseholes of Westminster/Brussels do or don't do.

My registered pyromaniac has a prior engagement for that date, but he will set up the gear a couple of days prior and his glamorous assistant, who has a decade of experience in such matters and is also registered as a pyro-wonk, will take the place of the Master in letting the things off and generally being Safety Boss.

It'll be a triple-themed affair: Halloween; Euro-Liberation Day; Guy Fawkes. The Guy Fawkes theme is particularly apposite in view of the multiple malfeasances of the denizens of Westminster Palace during the previous year or two/three. There will be two Guizers burned atop the bonfire, strapped back-to-back: one wearing leopard-skin shoes; the other wearing a Krankies cap. You can guess the faces.

The evening will be a two-part affair, with a kiddies party at sundown; and eight minutes of fireworks at Nautical Twilight. The crescendo fireworks will start at 22:59:30 and culminate at very exactly 23:00:00, as had been planned for the aborted 29 March departure.

Theresa the Texel will have been re-fattened and a pig who was born on the 29th of March, already named Net&Yahoo (there was much debate whether he should be called Sharon as he will be very fat), will also be roasted on a spit. Culinary-wise, there will be much smoked fish, particularly of the salmonid variety, already available from own resources, and efforts are being made to obtain a sturgeon for the occasion. An aviation acquaintance, who well knows an Egyptian grocer who benignly infests the uplands, is on the case and he reckons the only question will be "How would you like it smoked and do you want German sausage with that?".

If the UK somehow places Corbyn in power with a Labour government out of this it is simply asking for more immigration, more taxes, economic headwinds, and continued joining at the hip with EU bureaucrats making the rules.

Perhaps I'm out of touch but I can only regard such an eventuality as utterly distasteful and self-destructive for the UK.

The Tory failure to honour the Brexit referendum mandate effectively disqualifies them from power for a generation.

That effectively means that ZanuLabour 2.0 is likely to replace the failed government. That could be bad or good.

Renationalising the rail system would be a good thing. Controlling the excesses of the City, such as QE and share buyback, could only be a good thing. Nationalising the banks would be impractical and counter-productive. Foregoing more idiotic wars in support of The Empire could only be good. Investing more in health and education would certainly be good. Sinking the Blaircraft carriers and Trident boats to form reefs would be good for the environment, both above and below the waterline

Banishing the MPs, of any party, who shafted the electorate over Brexit would certainly be good.

First, a commendation for Undried Plum and the attention to detail for the forthcoming event....brilliant !....just a couple of minor queries therefore.

Will this be open to the public or will it be a " ticket only..dress code applies " event ?.....also, sadly, no mention of Boris and his participation...although "The Wicker Man " springs to mind here along with Gove being used for test purposes first.

Elsewhere, some good news.

Credit to the Tories here, seriously, albeit Labour also proposed the same, with their intention to scrap the infamous "Section 21 " of tenancy agreements. In effect, this allowed the parasitic, avaricious, malignant vermin known as landlords to simply evict a tenant for no reason...although there was a strong correlation between evictions being served and tenants who complained about such inconsequential details such as gas safety, electrical safety, poor infrastructure etc, repairs to which would result in the vermins profits being reduced. A certain corpulent slob in Kent rose to notoriety for its enthusiasm in serving such notices for example.

More good news. UKIP are unable to explain how they spent £300k on political data gathering for a certain referendum and the 2015 GE...at the time of the latter, the party was UKIP ( prop. N.Farage ) some may recall...could this be the same N.Farage some on here are lauding as the second coming perhaps ?

Also mentioned in passing re the above, a Mr A.Banks...currently the subject of a National Crime Agency ( amongst others ) investigation ....funny how his name seems to appear with such frequency.

As has been explained before, all the above can be found in your favourite media website, the Guardian to save the perplexed wondering, and normal service of providing erudite links will resume as soon as one acquires a new mouse thingy. One can confirm, that, unlike aircraft, percussive engineering as a form of rectification does not work on mouses of the IT variety ....

Easter hoves near. It celebrates the cruxifixion of Jesus and his raising from the dead 3 days later. It provides a promise to the masses that there will be a second coming.

I’d put some serious money on the fact that Jesus will reappear to save us before we ever get a sensible post from K&C.

I wouldn't bank on that!

As a viewer from afar the UK NHS and failing education system both seem to be bottomless money pits.

But I might be wrong.

WRT education, you are not wrong. Educational funding could be cut by 20% with the right policies, and standards would increase. However, the right policies would involve pointing out that the previous 40 years of policies have been almost 100% wrong, and stupidly wrong at that, and the politicians of all parties are never going to admit that.

KnC,

I don't normally read too much of what you post largely due to the fact that I find your abuse of the English language, shall we say, syntactically challenging for this bear of little brain.

However, above you referred to me as "parasitic, malignant, vermin...".

Yes. I am a landlord. I own three properties in the UK and two in the Philippines. The ones in the Philippines are rented on Airbnb. All tenants in the UK have been with me at least 5 years and live in modern, well maintained properties. I regard them as my customers and look after them.

I therefore find your all encompassing statement above to be bordering on the libellous.

Please modify it using a modifier such as 'some' before the word landlord or I shall be more than happy to recommend that you give yourself a hefty kick in the goodies.

I too am a landlord, I own rental properties in several countries, and resent being referred to in the above terms by a person who clearly has a chip on both shoulders ( hence the 'chips' I suppose) and is full of bilious and all encompassing envy directed at anyone who has embraced capitalism and thus been successful in life.

I too would like to see an apology or modifier, or better still to see this odious character removed from our forum. I agree with alternative views but they do not need to be expressed in his manner.

Not read, nor do I intend to read, but my daughter has just sold one of her properties. She had it for 12 years, one tenant. They cared for the property including decorating and improved the garden.

They moved out on amicable terms to a newer property. What ever someone's jaundiced opinion, she was a good landlord with good tenants.

I've been a tenant many times and a landlord once. After being ripped off by the German girl who rented from me (and stole all the fixtures and fittings when she left, including light switches and lights), never again.
