Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Why has Corbyn changed his mind ? In fact, how has Corbyn made a decision ?
Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
He's probably just fed up with it all by now. Have an election, if he loses he can just quit and move somewhere nice, if he wins then he gets to move in with Larry.
Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
If Corbyn wins I imagine he could move anywhere he wants, as apart from the illegal.aliens, criminals, and other scum, most sane people will leave the country.
Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
So now they're trying to change the rules to allow 16 year olds and EU citizens to vote, despite the fact that adding the younger people to the roll would take six months. No. 10 has said it will pull the Bill if that amendment gets through. They're clearly trying to bias things by adding EU citizens to the mix too. That definitely shouldn't be allowed.

Correct, as a full time registered resident in Spain I can vote in local council elections but not national elections. Should be Vicki versaThey're clearly trying to bias things by adding EU citizens to the mix too. That definitely shouldn't be allowed.

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Indeed in Greece we can vote in the local elections but quite rightly only citizens can vote in the national elections. And why should a EU resident be given the right to vote in the national elections when many British citizens cannot because they have been non resident for more than ten years?

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
I have to admit that when I left the UK I expected I'd get to vote in three more general elections, given the Fixed Term Parliament Act. Looks like I'll reach that milestone before the end of the year now so that'll give me a bonus extra one.

They'll come from the East. In the back of a lorry.
And there'll be more than three of 'em.

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Project Fear is NOT dead!!
Amazingly, after 3+ years of fannying around, officialdom suddenly utters doom-laden warnings about the speculative hit to the UK economy assuming the current Brexit agreement takes effect.
And this just before a GE which despite the politicos’ assertions that it isn’t about Brexit it patently obviously is about how badly the exercise has been conducted.
The Westminster Bubble still proceeds on the assumption that we’re all too ignorant and stupid to know for what we voted in 2016.
Such stunning arrogance may reap a whirlwind they hopefully will regret.

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
As Boris didn't sign the request for a further extension, and he is still the PM, could he just inform the EU that effective midnight (tonight) the 31st we are out. End of story. They can take him to court, but what can they do otherwise. If it's a fait accompli then ...... two fingers.

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Alison, I think in that case the Supreme Court would find as they did with his earlier poroging of Parliament was that it was illegal, so it didn't happen, so we hadn't left.
Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
But if the EU had already proceeded along the path of the UK's departure? Whatever they choose to do is well outside the jurisdiction of any UK court. If they say "tough you're gone". What then.
