Yes. A far too-late ending to May.

Her 'decisions' from right back when she was Home Secretary have had both of us in tears....and not of laughter, either. Totally unsuited to any form of political office.

Now the big infighting for the job starts, can't raise enthusiasm for any of them, least of all the "favourites", perhaps the EU election results being announced on Sunday may quench their ardour and the penny might drop that as a party they are finished.

How much damage has this shower of clowns done so far I wonder?

To be fair, she’s not unique in that, on both sides of the House :-o

One of my Orfes died this morning.

I'm sad about that. I will miss it. It was a good fish. A worthy fish. Its end is a loss.

Dutch turnout finished at 41%, slightly up on last time. Guess a lot of people rolled in late.
An exit poll has been published, giving the Dutch Labour party the most seats, 5 out of 26. The Dutch Eurosceptic parties have 4 in total
If the UK leaves, one of the 3 extra seats is going to the dogs...the animal rights party.
https://nos.nl/artikel/2286019-exitpoll ... -jaar.html

Of interest is that the FvD are on track for 3 seats. They are a rough equivalent of TBP in that they're new (since 2016) and push direct democracy and Euroscepticism. They won the most seats in the recent Dutch Provincial Elections.

I recycle newspapers (among other things) and it has been several months since I divested myself of my collection.
Looking through them just now it seems that the headlines about May's intransigence have been front page news throughout those months.

So, as a democracy when do we get to vote for a new Prime Minister ?

5 May 2022,
or maybe earlier.

In fact, you never get to vote for the Prime Minister. And you are a Parliamentary constitutional monarchy, without a written constitution, not a democracy. The dog's breakfast of which is becoming apparent.

I'm sorry to hear about your Orfe, I have always found them to be particularly friendly fish with quite nice personalities, unlike fan tails which tend to be rather stuck up fish.

It is quite likely that we may have several more PMs by then.

PN, we might do, I have a feeling that the Tories will faff about, go for a middle of the road PM in order to "reach out" to all members of the Party, (remember the needs of the Party come before the Country at all times), he/she will try to accommodate all the various views (unsuccessfully), Farage will be gearing for a General Election, and if present performance is anything to go by, very professionally, Parliament will be unworkable due to numbers and Corbyn forces a vote of no confidence and an election is forced at the end of this year.

One thing for sure is that the Tories won't elect or support a hardliner, so nothing will change. I think that the fun is only just beginning, May leaving solves nothing and the Tories will still fail to meet peoples expectations and their usual modus operandi of lying won't do in the future.

This might become quite a long thread.

Boris will be PM soon, and with any luck the very first thing he'll do is to tell the EU to go and take a flying **** to themselves.

That'd be a start.
