Folks.
I'm no politician, but I've done many thousands of deals.

No deal, is the only deal.

It's complicated to explain, but sometimes, the only deal you have is to walk.

The negotiations between HMG and the EU is one of these.

Your choice is basically walk, or get ****.

Wasn't Boris originally a remainer until he sensed the opportunity to make a name for himself?

Boris Johnson favoured UK remaining in EU.

The attitude of not caring what other Member States are up to - especially the lazy countries of the south who gulp up huge amounts of Community money - is typical of many British. Leave it all to Brussels and then complain. I always was in favour of the UK leaving the EU and a no-deal Brexit is what we should go for now, but things would have been different if the UK had not been so feeble after the abdication of Thatcher, and hence allowed the Franco-German axis to rule the EU.

I just hope this brings a so-called no deal BrExit closer.

There is no satisfactory deal that we can do with the EU. They will only offer a deal that suits the 27 EU countries.

We MUST have a clean break, after which we will negotiate on a level playing field.

The EU do NOT want us to go, so they will NEVER offer anything that allows us a painless departure.

It HAS to go no deal, and this was obvious from the start.

For those dedicated to Nige....sorry, I forgot about this little gem. Nige on the front line !..this should appeal to all those cabbages who see life in purely institutionalised military terms.....

Invade Wales. Never liked 'em. Would have suggested the Isle of Wight but the Royal Navy doesn't have the vessels and HMG can't afford the ferry tickets.

How about London? It's like being in a foreign country already...and no ferry tickets required. As they do go a bit heavy on parking tickets, an invading army would have to be careful where they leave their tanks plus any ammo would have to be environmentally friendly and comply with the ULEZ.
It's always my fault - SWMBO

BBC Radio4 giving “Tarzan Hezeltine” yet more air(head) time as I post ! Smoke detectors sounding as my ears get hot.

If anyone else is hacked off with our state-funded broadcasters obvious bias here’s a link to get it out of your system:

Ah, but, when it comes to ferries, and HMG, a Mr Grayling may be able to help here....he has some experience with such after all.

Nice graph, easily understood. Europe-wide, not the revolution for which one had hoped, except in France. Germans still voted for Mutti, albeit in lower quantities, and Spanish wish to remain socialist.

Many of you will have overdosed on Horlicks last night, hence the euphoria has yet to explode on here. The result was hardly unexpected however. Nige having milked every last drop of jingoistic sentiment in his selfless promotion of the Brand...himself.

Now that he's achieved the initial objective, there remains the little matter of his manifesto to be published and also how he intends to impose the contents as cohesive policies. Nige doesn't exactly have a track record of success here after all.

Here's the good news however. Well some of us think it's good news, there are a few who are probably deeply upset about this result, because Tommy, true patereeut wot he is, had has aspirations rudely terminated. Naturally, there are a series of excuses as to why. Although there's a very real possibility once the retrial commences, he will be indisposed for some time anyway.

What does the result mean?
What impact do MEPs have on our membership of the EU?
What effect is the result likely to have on the UK parliament?
Does the UK parliament have any obligation to take any notice of EU elections?
What is likely to happen in a subsequent general election?

Some are making assumptions that a new Tory leader will automatically become PM. Wasn't the deal with the DUP and May, in order to keep her maladministration in power? It cannot be assumed that Foster and Co will simply transfer their support.

Without that support, the Tories are a minority and will struggle to form a government. Don't think for one minute they will get a no deal brexit through, if they do manage to form a government. This Parliment's time is up.

A General Election looks strongly on the cards. Some need to face the very hard facts. There is some very wishful thinking about.
