Part of the problem is that the deadlines have just whistled past and they set a new one. Boris is trying to stop that happening again.

Nothing concentrates the mind like a deadline.

When there is no deadline then it is easy to procrastinate. We have procrastinated for over 3 years.

Here is the opposition, they seem rather rattled, this spluttering foreigner is over looking the fact that Mrs May made this pledge to all EU citizens about 2 years ago, many of whom have spent the two minutes required to apply to continue their lives here.

I will offer this morning's thought:

Think Treaty of Versailles, so punitive that it beggared Germany and led to WW2.

Think the Marshall Plan and the enemy eventually joining NATO.

Which path would it be more sensible for the EU to pursue?

No,I said they should.

It makes no sense to alienate an important economy.

Cheerful news this morning, Big Ben is undergoing a heavy maintenance check, it may be ready in January and subject to approval by Parliament it is being planned to Bing Bong to celebrate Brexit.
That is good news, that could only be improved on by a ceremonial occasion that includes tarring and feathering the former Speaker and also Anna Soubrey.

The smirking foreigners now appear to realise that it is going to happen, after telling everyone that it won't be possible to do a deal in eleven months they now realise that in that case they won't receive any money, so they will have to get their skates on, bet they still have their three month summer holiday though.

A brilliant summary of why the UK ended up so knicker-twisted from 2016 to now and probably beyond;

The same speaker makes a comprehensive explanation as to why the UK Labour Party crashed and burned which is over in the GE thread.

That introducer is dreadful, I don't know how people like that can't learn to read and talk. We mere mortals see TV talking heads er manage um er to er talk without um er pauses. We even see some less than intelligent game show contestants and street interviews where they can talk fluidly. I pause for reflection but don't um and ah as I do so.

And then he is almost as bad. Far rather read a good article than listen.

Brussels chaos: Spain follows Poland in shock threat to quit EU 'No more humiliation!'

THERE is mounting pressure in Spain for right-wing parties to back a Brexit-style departure from the EU, following widespread fury across the country at a ruling by the European Court of Justice (ECJ).

The edifice is collapsing! Which is why the EU fought so hard to make sure the Eire referendum some years ago was re-run until they got the ‘correct’ answer and why they tried their damndest to do the same to Brexit.

Dominoes anyone? :D

OH F F S. ! ! !

I thought after GE 2019 they might have gone away and reflected? And they have and this is what they have to show for it!

With Labour slowly self-destructing and this lot on the wrong meds then I’ll endorse the call by boac on this forum for a decent strong opposition to the BJ brigade or we’re all going to be deep in the excreta! ~X(

Looks like Johnson has a formidable foe in UVDL after today’s meeting and the negotiations will be tougher than ever with more straight talking than with M Barnier?
