Oooh ? does this mean you aren't really a South African after all then ?...just pretending to be one ?Capetonian wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 8:28 am"I am open to being educated otherwise of course"
Obviously it's too late for that.
Suggest you use your limited mental faculties before jumping to conclusions and opening that mouth.
As others have said, try reading what you write, or preferably, not writing anything.

I suspect that he probably had a very hard time in Boy Entrant/Apprentice training with a mouth like that. The standard treatment was a quick walk behind the back of the block and a salutary lesson about getting on with other human beings.
Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Another of your effing stupid ignorant assumptions KnC.
You really think you're clever, don't you.
Nobody else does. Each of your pathetic utterances makes you look more of a deranged and feeble minded imbecile without the power of rational thought.
Time for a quote from the Guardian perhaps?

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
There are 3 sections in this process, producers, consumers, and politicians.
The latter get between the first two with taxes and rules designed to help but often hinder. I know we need them to keep the infrastructure working but in many areas they seem more an embuggerance than a benefit. Border trade would seem to beva case in point.
For over 40 years we have been in the EU. Our limitation on importing spirits and wine from the EU was only scraped about 30 odd years ago but there remains a positive tax difference across the common market. Why?
We kept out of Schengen why?
OK, we kept out of the Euro but by chance not by choice and that looks to be better, but opting out of Schengen imposing internal duties and higher VAT rates denied us benefits enjoyed by others in the EU.
Our VAT is 5% higher than the EU floor and many countries don't even levy the 15% IVA. Once imposed VAT must be levied and cannot be lowered below the floor. Sanitary products are a case in point. We imposed VAT; we cannot remove it. We imposed VAT on fuel at 5%; there was an outcry. It was frozen at 5% but we cannot reduce it.
All little things that endear people to THEM.

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Interesting to note that May 21 was selected as the extension date instead of May 7th which had been the preferred date of the EU27 ministers.
Until ... somebody pointed out that the earlier date could lead to Britain breaking free from the EU on the 8th of May.
8th of May, somebody realised, is VE Day !

Here's a link that should appeal and please note Javid's comments in the last paragraph.....refreshing to learn his enthusiasm coming to the fore albeit he does have visions of being her ( imminent ) successor along with a few others.....

Now, having kindly obliged your request, in return, how about you qualifying for us, your nationality and country of origin...( afterthought ) ...please.
Siseman..oh tsk ! a credit to your Branch and the intrinsic ineptitude ...how could I possibly have been a Boy entrant when om15 can confirm I was an Apprentice !....as for getting on with people, try standing in a workshop near the Peace line in Belfast, on my left a Catholic, on my right, a Protestant ...both holding Stanley knives with the intent of using them on each other... in the middle...moi. My sense of humour defused an "interesting " situation.

Oh what a brave chappie you are! Brave indeed. We obviously have you all wrong K&C. You’re obviously not the pretentious cnut, still fighting the class war out of an innate sense of inferiority, newark that we all think you are.

Serious divisions Chez OFSO. I am thinking we should get the hell out on March 29th as the law says. Mrs OFSO voted to rescind Article 50. Mutiny in me own household.

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
The only thought in the majority of MPs' minds (such as they are) for the last two years has been:
"How can I defy the public and keep my job?"
In the long run, the only thing that matters is whether the public let them. You can bet your bottom dollar there will never be another referendum in the UK if they do.

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Our local MP has stated he won't be standing in the constituency at the next GE. He's alienated his constituents because he's ignored the constituency's Referendum vote to leave. I suspect he knows the prospects of being re-elected are very marginal. I wouldn't have been voting for him at the next GE anyway.
I wonder how many other MPs are now starting to think that way.

That, sir, is heresy ! How dare you besmirch the good name and hilarity of that fine comedy show by comparing them to the clinically brain dead denizens of Westminster !4mastacker wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 10:00 amA photo has been released of all the participants in the latest negotiations.

No, it's not a fact. You wouldn't know a fact if it bit you in the arse. It's your opinion based on your utter hatred of all things pertaining to the UK. Yet again your self-loathing gushes from every pore.Krystal n Chips wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 6:15 pmAs for the "Brit abroad ", sorry, that's not a stereotype, it's a fact.

It's fine for socialists to present opinions as facts. Some grow up, and get over it, clearly KnC hasn't.

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Well it's nice to read you mention facts, so, talking of which, why the delay in replying to a valid question as to your nationality, at birth, and hence the country you were borne in. You see, to my way of thinking, when such a basic question is posed, politely, and no reply is received, then this suggests there may be something which is claimed that isn't as factual as the claim makes out. Bit like the slogan on a certain big red bus and the NHS in some respects.Capetonian wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 2:43 pmIt's fine for socialists to present opinions as facts. Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Apologies for Thread drift; K&C haven't you heard of dual nationality? I have many friends and former colleagues who have dual nationality. Indeed my maternal cousins have tri-nationality; British, American and Nicuagrian. They were born in America to a British mother and Nicuagrian father. And yes they do have three passports. They do not beat a friend of ours who has five legitimate passports though:
RAF 32 Sqn B Flt ; Twin Squirrels.
