I just asked SWMBO for her opinion:who would be the biggest calamity for the UK as PM, Corbyn or Johnson. Reminded us of discussing the order of precedence between a flea and a louse....

UK to scrap passenger landing cards

All landing cards for international passengers arriving in the UK will be scrapped from Monday.
Landing cards are currently filled in by passengers arriving in the UK by air or sea from outside the European Economic Area.
Border Force director general Paul Lincoln, in a letter to staff, said it would "help meet the challenge of growing passenger numbers".
But unions warned it risked weakening immigration controls.
Around 16m landing cards are issued every year and they are used to record what is said to border staff on arrival as well as the reasons for travel and conditions of entry.
The Home Office had agreed to scrap them for seven countries, including the US and Australia, from June, but has now decided to go further.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Border Force director general Paul Lincoln didn't say..
"Well, given the numbers coming in by every other means, what's the f#cking point? I mean, the government is encouraging them, frankly, and hasn't a clue within 10 million how many are already in the country. There's probably at least 20 working in my own office"

According to UK media the joint Brexit meetings were mutually ended with no agreement. According to France 24, it was Corbyn who pulled out and scuppered the show. God, won't someone take a bludgeon and put the two of them out of our misery !

One aspect of the predictions is the popularity of the LibDems - who, I believe are promoting 'remain'.

I would guess that most Remainers can't bring themselves to vote for Labour.
..and this would be the main reason why not

I actually agree with one part of this statement :D
Nicola Sturgeon has insisted there is a "real chance" for Scotland to stay part of the EU as she launched the SNP's manifesto for the European elections.
The SNP leader said voting for her party in next Thursday's election would be an opportunity to "make Scotland's voice heard".
She claimed Westminster had "ignored the overwhelming vote in Scotland" to remain in the EU.
And she described the prospect of Boris Johnson becoming PM as a "nightmare".
Ms Sturgeon, who is Scotland's first minister, has backed calls for another referendum on Brexit - a so-called People's Vote.
She has also said she wants another referendum on Scottish independence within the next two years if the UK leaves the EU.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

So
"ignored the overwhelming vote in Scotland"
doesn't understand democracy
backed calls for another referendum on Brexit - a so-called People's Vote
doesn't respect democracy

..and she wants to be in charge of an independent Scottish "democracy"

As I understand it if/when the UK comes out of the EU then it does so as a unit and the only way Scotland could remain in the Eu would be to re-apply, the financial aspects of which it cannot possibly meet so that is a non-starter.

That is my understanding also, except that technically Scotland leaves with the UK, and would therefore have to apply to join should it become independent. The big problem with any change of EU rules about non-independent states is Catalonia, so there's no chance the EU will do a thing until Scotland is formally independent. The EU has shown itself perfectly happy to break its own financial rules on numerous occasions, and is technically doing so with several countries right now. Scotland would be in if it suits the EU bureaucrats to have it in.

On the one hand the EU would like to attract an independent Scotland in order to plunder their fishing grounds and to poke the RUK in the eye, on the other hand an independent Scotland would be a financial basket case and they would have to subsidise the proliflicate socialism that England has to fund.

I don't think that many would object to a hard border from Carlisle across to the North Sea.

Another aspect is that they are predicting tectonics to move Shetland east-abeam Orkney.

How come their poll shows Scotland as being non-SNP?

I believe the SNP are represented by a slightly lighter shade of yellow, lemon rather than chartreuse.
I suspect the Shetlands wandered off somewhat after a particularly heavy session last weekend. It would also explain why Ireland has disappeared without trace ;)))
