I don't think Slasher would agree.

Bah ! humbug !

2,000 pages of Brexit agreement, that is an awful lot of toilet roll.

What worries me is where are the perforations, is it strong enough and will it run out at precisely the wrong time?

The devil is in the detail and I will put my money on a strong sense of disappointment when we realise Boris has sold us a lemon.

Fisheries crapped on as usual and too much of them having a say in our affairs sounds like Maastricht Mk2.

The remains of the Christmas holiday will be spent trying to find the start of this gigantic roll of adhesive tape and then, if located, attempting to unroll it to see the real message.

I am pessimistic but will still savour the bottle of English fizz 1 hour before the New Year razzmatazz kicks off.🥳

Erratum: “2,000 pages of Brexit agreement, that is an awful lot of toilet roll“.

I was wrong, it’s only approx 1,246 pages, still a lot for our over-fed hungover MPs to trawl through and find the little pieces of grit which the far superior EUrocrat lawyers will have buried in the ‘agreement’, to be voted on in the HoC after ONE day of debate.

And those pieces of grit are not ‘oyster’ grit which will produce a beautiful pearl after some gestation, but more likely to lead to severe and terminal mechanical bearing failure which will leave us all very much worse off.

Something smells fishy, and I’m not referring to quota allocations etc... :-?

As we now seem to have concluded this thread, perhaps the last word should come from Liam Fox,

“It represents a victory for the will of the people over a reluctant political class and the condescension and derision from the liberal metropolitan elite, both of whom are still so out of touch that they still cannot understand why the British people had the audacity to ignore their advice.”

om15, this thread has years to run yet, if one looks at the detail of the “deal”, we’ll be sending delegations to Brussels or they’ll be coming over here for fish ‘n chips whilst all the pieces of grit previously mentioned are slowly removed or more likely added to by the EUrocrats.

No apologies but I think we haven’t seen nor heard the last of our fav undertaker;

And so far there has been an ominous silence from the Brexit/Reform Party which implies that they are actually going through the infamous “deal” with a fine-toothed comb to highlight how badly the UK has been shafted in what has to be a *BRINO “deal”.

Boris’ brain really is suffering from long-Covid and this is the result!

BRINO for those who’ve not been paying attention stands for BRexit In Name Only... :-o

Oh. I thought it's time for congrats?
Well, but the 'negotiating' period of years has ended at least?

Has it?

There follows a 5.5 years negotiation on fisheries.
Then there is the little matter of sourcing of car parts.
Then the matter of the level playing field.
Not to forget NornIand.

Lots more to come I am sure.

Fitting that the document was carried on a British built a/c.
The Brexit trade agreement touched down at London City airport on an RAF flight this afternoon after being signed by EU commission president Ursula von der Leyen

The Rolls-Royce BR700 family, but I don't think they were ready at the time.

I wonder if anybody who signed off on this ball of buggery had read and digested it... hardly likely given the time given for review and debate...

Anyway, I guess we will have time to read and weep as reality bites...

One thing that has puzzled me about BREXIT is that no one seems to have equated it to Colonialism.

The UK population felt the same as the population of the colonies, and knew/know that they might be worse off financially from BREXIT.

But the DON'T care!

They want to make their decisions and not be serfs of the EUSSR.

TGG sez:"I wonder if anybody who signed off on this ball of buggery had read and digested it... hardly likely given the time given for review and debate...√
Anyway, I guess we will have time to read and weep as reality bites..."

And BM said 5 days ago: " trawl through and find the little pieces of grit which the far superior EUrocrat lawyers will have buried in the ‘agreement’, to be voted on in the HoC after ONE day of debate.
And those pieces of grit are not ‘oyster’ grit which will produce a beautiful pearl after some gestation, but more likely to lead to severe and terminal mechanical bearing failure which will leave us all very much worse off".

Please beware TGG, once again you're in danger of agreeing with or even sounding like me!

Could be a bad way to start the new year...? :-o :YMPARTY: =))

But I had a distinct feeling of unreality when I read that Blessed Mother Theresa Maybot criticised the new deal in the HoC yesterday and bragged that hers was actually much better!

I dunno what planet she's on but I hope it doesn't cause me a TCAS RA or I will be mightily miffed. [-X

Useless fact # 94: Hours of parliamentary time spent on fox-hunting ban under Blair government: Seven hundred, Hours of parliamentary time spent on decision to invade Iraq under Blair government: Seven.
Hours spent yesterday approving the "New Deal": approximately Seven.

My calculations indicate it will be just over 6 1/2 hours from detonation until I will be able to hear it.
Around an hour more for you. :-$
