With complete Police withdrawal, what happens is that gangs take over completely and start running their own security, which is generally better than rival gangs+cops.

At one point in my life I spent some time in Italy and mingled (quite pleasurably) with some of the local community. One of my friends had a friend who had a friend who was one of the Friends, and I remember being told how the murder rate of police and innocent bystanders etc in the far south was quite low as the Mafia policed themselves, taking care themselves of low-level scum such as muggers and rapists. It was only when Rome was forced into action by well-meaning individuals such as officials in the tax department, believing that they had some God-given right to other people's hard-earned money and resentful at what they were not collecting, and started chasing up the members of the Families, that police started getting shot and judges blown up, and the Catholic Church got started having fits of the vapours as their collection bowels became empty. Sorry, mis-spelled: that should read "collection bowls".

It would be interesting to compare statistics (if Italians ever collect such things, reliably) on crimes committed by immigrants in the south and the north of that lovely country, and to speculate why the figure is lower in the south - which I am sure it is.

The Nigerian gangs are apparently prepared to take a subordinate role to the Cosa Nostra, and not use firearms, so they've come to a business arrangement.
The Nigerians supply the prostitutes, and do the drug distribution to migrants. The Mafia takes a cut and lets them operate. The Mafia consider dealing directly in prostitution to be dishonorable, but the cut of the profits is always welcome. The Nigerians are quite used to settling scores with machetes and axes anyway, and cheerfully use these to put down the migrants who were infesting the place with low level crime.

Of course, the Nigerian gangs are getting bigger every day...

Needless to say, the worst off are honest Nigerians living in Sicily - everybody wants to exploit them, whereas the Mafia have exclusive rights to exploit Sicilians.

My Provincial Capital had a crime today - a real one!

Convenience store held up at 5:30am by a masked man with a knife. Cashier hands over the cash, and calls 911 when perp leaves.
Ten cops turn up. Think about that. Ten cops at 5:30 am. That's what happens when you commit crime in a town with no crime. Everybody and his dog turns up. The dog is called Dutch (I met him last year). Perp caught 3 blocks away, everything recovered. In court by the afternoon. Full hearing tomorrow morning. Apart from speeders, the courts have nothing to do either. He'll plead guilty - they always do, and get prison time. The prison is called Sleepy Hollow. Really.

The convenience store is on the same block as the Police Station. How convenient.

Mind you, the cops aren't a lot better. The pizza place right next door to the Police Station was broken into last year, and they didn't notice. Guy obviously had the munchies as all he did was make himself a pizza. They released the instore video to help with ID. It was very funny. He puts everything back once he's used it, and cleans up afterwards. Even puts the stuff in the right bins for recycling. And he paid. All very Canadian.

The latest incident in Florida illustrates that not all policemen are recruited because they are the sharpest pencils in the box. Sometimes just because you played on your high school football team qualifies you to be a cop.
An unarmed black man, lying on the ground, with his hands up, asking the officer not to shoot was shot in the leg. After the wounding he asked the cop why he shot him. The cop replied, "I don't know".
To make it more insane - there were three shots from that officer, only one hit.
The police union has said the officer was trying to shoot the autistic man the other was trying to protect, but missed. So that's alright then.

Black Lives Matter protesters who have brought London City Airport to a standstill after reaching the site in a dinghy are apparently demonstrating over the UK's 'racist climate crisis' because black people 'are more likely to be exposed to air pollution'.

Flights in and out of the airport have been disrupted since 5.40am when nine protesters stormed the grounds and lay down in the middle of the tarmac, chained to a tripod, to 'highlight the UK's environmental impact on the lives of black people'.

Four hours on - despite the serious alleged security breach - the protesters are still in the middle of the runway as police 'negotiate' with those responsible and await 'specialist resources' to unlock them.

What a bunch of wuckfits.
Specialist resources ............. yes, I would imagine that an aircraft doing 120 knots or so would do the job. High pressure hoses would clear away the mess, and they would have proved to the world that (their) black lives don't matter. After all, if you lay down on an airport runway, or a railway line or motorway, for that matter, you should be removed from the gene pool.
