Doing well at making America 'great' again

"the country reported 55,000 new cases of Covid-19 in a day, beating the world record for a daily rise set by Brazil on 19 June."

Next target?

A more accurate version of who was funding Taliban to target US troops?

https://www.rt.com/op-ed/493759-us-russ ... aign=Email

"If you do a simple back-of-the-envelope calculation of the military and civilian aid that the US gave to Pakistan, which in turn was channeling funds to the Taliban and the Haqqani network, a straightforward conclusion emerges: multiple US administrations were indirectly financing violent attacks on US soldiers in Afghanistan. The Democrats crying hoarse about ‘Russia’ and the Taliban dare not go this deep in analyzing responsibility".

Well, I’d like to see him there, but not before Ronald Reagan’s face is put there.

Given the idiots who've been letting off fireworks for the past several weeks, that part of the evening holds no excitement or anticipation because it's just more of the same thing.

I'll probably be spending it with the three remaining puppies if they're at all unnerved by the noise. They've mostly been curious rather than scared so far, but it could get a lot louder this evening.

Hmmh!

There is one aspect that is unlovable...!

Whatever the case it is good to see the conservation status of the bald eagle reads "population increasing".

Fireworks last night.
Since almost all all public fireworks displays were cancelled in our metro area there was a lot of amateur pyrotechnics all around. The only legal fireworks are ground based; poppers, sparklers, etc. No aerials allowed. That didn't seem to stop anyone. There were near professional quality displays all around just my neighborhood. From my roof deck I
could see stuff for miles around. Fortunately, they tapered off around ten p.m. so the dogs weren't traumatized for too long.
Don't know if any fires were started by this stuff, but I did hear a few sirens while it was going on.
My daughter went to one of the few public displays but I stayed in and watched fireworks on TV.

We look out over a broad river valley with "high rent" houses about 5 miles away on the far side of the river, large houses on large lots. Certainly the biggest fireworks display I've seen over the years. It looked as though every house was having its own private display. Relieving the tension of the restrictions I suppose.

President Trump's full speech at Mt. Rushmore. I thought it was quite good, epic maybe. I defy anyone to claim xenophobia, racism, and all the other cancel tactics. It was an affirmation of America's heritage.

When the noise built up there were a few whines from the puppy pen so I went and sat with them for a while. I think they just wanted attention rather than being scared of fireworks. I ended up on the couch next to the pen, watching the Midway film on TV. I though it was the original at first but quickly realised it was not, and I also watched it having seen the fascinating video on YouTube giving the Japanese perspective (as in, this is the information that Nagumo had, what would you have done at that point if that's all you knew).
