I didn't expect any better from you Goblin, I find Boac becomIng somewhat tiresome with his monotone regurgitations. In fact, I may make you my new poster boy for dysfunctional thinking and aggressive internet behavior if you are able to stick around.. Congratulations!

While I don't understand your equation as the variables are undefined, I'm fairly certain it is foul.

I liked Bolton, he was on my page as being willing to crush the enemies of the US, militarily or diplomatically, ....
I saw him only as a liar.

Amazon, Facebook, Google, even Microsoft, Cisco and Intel didn't exist when I got my MBA. And I'll bet 25 years from now new American enterprises that we don't know today will be dominating the business world of tomorrow. The advantage we have over China is that we create and incubate and they have shown so far that they can only steal, copy, and employ slave labor or similar state enterprises
For those who denigrate California and the other more left-leaning states on the west Coast, it's worth noting how many of those companies were nurtured in that environment and flourished. As for slave labour, a fair bit of America is only one step above it, given the number of people who have to work two or more jobs to survive.
Did you notice all the Hong Kong protesters waving American flags? Brought a tear to my eye and I wish them all the best. They're fighting for Freedom and Freedom isn't free.
Now that I can agree with. Freedom has a price, often paid in blood. Even the freedom to drive a motor vehicle or own a gun has a blood price. We all just hope someone else gets that bill while we enjoy the freedom.

PS - when did you get your MBA? Intel was founded in 1968.

I think Bolton's weakness, was an over reliance on bombing people to bring them the joys of the US.

I am slightly cheered by an apparent 'softening' in the Chump rhetoric. Still trashing around on Twatter like a dying fish in a barrel, but perhaps the influence the hawks have had on his ductile brain is waning?

'Being nicer to China' - easing the tariffs and delaying them over Christmas as well, and easing sanctions on Iran. All surprising, but may well aid talks. What next? Who goes next?

I completed it in 1980, about the same time IBM introduced personal computers to the masses. Intel may have been founded in 1968, but it wasn't until IBM used its processors that it showed up on the tech map.

As for California's Silicon Valley being the generator - it certainly is, but a lot of the structure that enabled the San Jose miracle was established in the 1980's, when Republicans ruled the roost in the Golden State. Ronald Reagan, believe it or not, was the elected California governor. Today California is a one-party state, and there is little hope of even one Republican to be elected to a statewide office until it completes its transition to Detroit-like hopelessness, a process only about 1/2 completed. A good way to measure the sapping of California's decline is to look at the demographics and economic status of those coming into California and those leaving for greener pastures elsewhere, where they can keep some of the money they earn, use plastic straws, shoot a deer, and wear a MAGA hat without fear of physical attack.

California will always be beautiful - I lived there for 30 years. Once it gets over its leftist bent, it will draw talent in again. In the meantime, places like Boise, Salt Lake City, Reno, Austin, Phoenix and others are little-by-little stealing the golden goose from under California's nose.

No dark or dirty meaning Mr There. Just a concise statement of Newton's second law. of motion. The bit that makes the Goblin engine work. ;)))

A moment for remembrance of 9/11. I love the symbolism. France's gift of the Statue of Liberty to the United States, I think, was the greatest gift ever given. There she is, holding the torch high. Majestic!

More photos and vids from Manhattan on that day, 18 years ago, that changed the world.

We still want the poor, huddled masses, if they're willing to work and contribute. What we don't want are welfare seekers, terrorists, and gang members. I consider that logical. The whole American idea is presicated on the work ethic. We have opportunity for those who seek it.

Having spent a lifetime and career chasing the opportunity from humble beginnings I know its blessings. America is still the shining city on the hill, if we don't wreck it with left-wing politics.

That seems about right, Mr. Plum. The US still imports some oil, but natural gas exports are exploding higher, with new LNG terminals being commissioned and pipelines being built to offload the cornucopia of natural gas we are producing into pressurized containers that we send to Europe, Japan, Korea and China increasing quantities.

I understand if some Europeans would prefer to purchase their natural gas from Russia, or use their needed energy when the windmills are turning and solar panels have some sun to work with. All the US can do is send energy to you in a bottle. You are free to pay for your politics as you wish.

Ben, the Intel 4040 CPU was introduced in 1974 and was widely used in teletypewriters and printers, we had about 150 of them.

Okay, but Intel wasn't a tech titan until IBM made its processors the PC standard. That was around 1980 as I recall. It was a hot topic at the time as I was working on my MBA at a San Francisco university. Foolishly, IBM sold off its personal computer operating system franchise to Microsoft, who worked it up to build a company that turned out to be much, much larger than IBM.

A lot of the garage entrepreneurs that founded Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Apple, Facebook, Amazon and such formed their enterprises many years before they emerged as mega billion $ companies. The brilliant gnomes who create new things work in the dark, perfecting their software, building a business plan, and make no money until they produce a product the world adopts. That's their road to riches. Funny how all these innovations seem to come from America.
