Of course you like it, Boac, but the joke is on you. The people crying '*****" were echoing approval of the President's speech, not expressing dissents. Where do you get your news?

From an English perspective, you are a total knobhead...

Perhaps the English you speak of should consider a new perspective. Obviously your take is off-bubble. And, hey, did you see the new polls showing support for impeachment falling sharply? I'll go out on a limb now and predict you've got 5 more years of the Trump administration.

Also, classing me as a 'knobhead" defines you more than it does me.

It would appear that Ben has worn the opposition down to the level that they can only make personal insults.

What revolting levels will this man sink to to buy popularity?
Trump arrived in time to serve Thanksgiving dinner to about two dozen troops before sitting down to eat with Barrasso and a commander based at Bagram. Playing behind them while they ate: The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, beamed live from back in New York.
https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/28/politics ... index.html
The 16-hour trip -- plus the three more Trump spent on the ground at Bagram Air Field north of Kabul -- were shrouded in secrecy under the protocol that a war zone visit by the US commander in chief demands.
Yet CNN had to claim in the headline that he "sneaked" into the journey. CNN biased, no can't be.

Me too. At last we can agree on something.

A minor quibble, though. My pensions were earned. They were funded by my contributions. None of them were given to me for sitting around and doing nothing, which seems to me to be the aim of socialism.

Ben, for a long time I believed you must be Jewish owing to your 100% backing of all done in that religons name, you deny that.
May I ask what religon you identify as?

You are at liberty to ignore that question of course, but one question that I pose to Christians is:

Which system do you consider closer to the ideals of Jesus Christ, Socialism or Capitalism?

There is only one right and truthfull answer to the above question yet those who most vehemently state their christian beliefs are invariably followers of the wrong deceitfull answer.
I hereby declare the U.S.A. a Pariah state.
All U.S. Citizens or persons arriving from the U.S.A. will be denied access

I refer the honourable gentlemen to posting #5663.

The standard of debate is almost level with the late lamented UK Parliament, and that IS an insult to intelligent adults!!!

Admin - This topic has descended to schoolboy level on some sides - 'knobhead', religious fervour etc. Is it time to crack the whip?

" Well, either UK or US politics actually."

That would apply to politics anywhere I would think, or more accurately politicians. Pity we could not find more benevolent Dictators to be our managers.

Bob,

I don't identify with any religion. I seek truth. I think Jesus was a magnificent, pure and profound proponent of truth, who inspired magnificent advancements in mankind, but I'm not convinced he was Son of God or the other magic Christianity professes. I'm not Jewish, either, but have great respect for the Jewish faith and culture, including Israel, as I do for Christian culture. I'm less forgiving of Muslim culture, which I see as based on violence and hostility, reflected in the daily news.

The future of mankind would be well served, in my opinion, if the Jewish and Christian ethics, tradidions, cultures and influences were widely adopted, even if I don't subscribe completely to them.

What I want is a better world, where we can live in peace, free from random attacks on people going about their business and simply trying to get by. I'm disinterested in trying to conquer anybody or steal wealth. I'm just trying to get by too. In the US it is still Thanksgiving season over this weekend. I'm thankful for the blessings I have, and hopeful all the conflicts, suffering, evil and avarice in the world can somehow come to an end. Some days I'm optimistic, other days I'm depressed.

Much of the violence and hostility we see in the daily news is due not to religion but to avarice. Religion is just a very good management tool.

Not to mention his criminal enterprises such as his fraudulent "university" etc. His non payment of tradesmen and sub-contractors (one could go on and on and on)...

Art of the Deal! Hmmm more like Art of the Steal!
