I was expressing my opinion, Goblin, not' blathering crap' as you characterized it. Why is it important to you to ridicule my post rather than argue the points I make? I'm particularly curious as to whether you feel a weakness in your positions or an anger at my positions. Which triggers your aggressive dismissal?

I was a USAF pilot for 30 years, 8 active duty and 22 more in the USAF Reserve. I fought (combat time in the last two) the Cold War, GW1, and Kosovo. Proud of it, too. I don't think you'll ever find the likes of me in the parachute photo you posted. I was taught to never jump out of a good airplane and I've never violated that advice.

To my knowledge, nobody I have ever worked with has ever considered me a 'prick'. I have a respect ethic that tends to preclude that, and served me well throughout my career.

Looking at how they're dressed, they must all have been freezing up at 14,000ft like that.

Hardly a very good sales pitch for a prospective candidate!? Sounds like he was one of Jack Nicholson’s escapees in the wonderful film “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”!

What are they up to over there West of 30W? It’s always been a worry in a country of approx 350 million folk that the cream which rises to the top trying to be the big chief very often turn out to be fruitcakes and nutters. And that the said ‘cream’ very often turns out to be very sour and ‘off’ when the nose gets within range!

Almost as bad as the Labour Party in UK and the Conservatives in UK hardly had an inspiring collection of candidates before Johnson popped up as the all-time recent favourite.

Or is it that you have to be somewhat abnormal before you’d actually WANT to be the big cheese. Maybe a psychologist or psychiatrist or therapist in this hallowed hall of experience could help solve this query?

Bernie Sanders seems to be the choice of the early delegate selection states, Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada. We'll know a lot more after South Carolina registers next week, and Super Tuesday, with several state primaries pretty much setting the slate going into the Democrat convention to select the party's candidate.

I find it interesting that Bernie Sanders is facing the same resistance Donald Trump did in 2016 from his own party. Now I'm reading about the plausibility of icing out Bernie in a brokered convention and nominating a Bloomberg-Hillary ticket. While I think President Trump would make mincemeat of any ticket Democrats could contrive, I'm looking forward to an entertaining and exciting election in November.

I anticipate an utter rejection of Sander's socialism but I could be wrong. If America goes that way I'm going to exit for a while until she comes back to her senses. Conservative presidents like Reagan and Trump come along once in a generation. They were and are slandered by the press, Hollywood and academics at all levels, but they perform cultural and economic miracles when they have the power to implement common sense government. I'm continually amazed at how many Americans haven't figured that out.

I see many similarities between the the Democratic primary in the US and the election of the Labour leader in the UK.

The happiest people are Donald Trump & Boris Johnson.

Throwing this one in mostly for Boac. This video expresses President Trump's achievement while showing the energy of his base. He's going to be very tough to beat in November.

https://videos.whatfinger.com/2020/02/2 ... spiration/

I don't know if you are outside the US you get the opportunity to watch a Trump rally and speech. He seems to do one or two a week. The arena or stadium is always filled with people watching monitors outside the venue who couldn't get in - never an empty seat and the vibe is electric. And he's been doing these rallies since his first election campaign.

I've never seen any politician generate the electricity President Trump does.

Ben,The ability of Trump to fill a venue is due to the fact that people are seeing what the Democrats are offering as an alternative, they don't have much use for an ageing socialist that appears to be their leading candidate. Trump must be laughing all the way to the next election.

bob2s, “laughing all the way to the next election” as per the UK at present? Unless Johnson does something really stupid which is not unknown. Zipwire tricks, lying in ditches, lying in front of bulldozers, all of these indicate open mouth wide and insert both feet before thinking.

Recently from the Chump
“We have contained this and it’s pretty close to being airtight.” Then Trump said, “We are rapidly developing a vaccine for COVID-19 and will essentially have a flu like shot available in a fairly quick manner.”
Today, proving what a quick learner he is having to be, it is not quite so good. 1 dead and, I believe, the tip of the greta - sorry - iceberg with numerous infections. All of which, of course, remains a Democratic plot to upset the coming election.

Wow! Time for the Sharpie map showing where the infection is not going? Bet y'all very impressed.

I've just seen, 26/2 , The Chump:

“COVID-19 (Coronavirus) cases would be down next to zero in a couple of days.”

I make it 29/2.

Things can change but so far the impact of corona has been less on US than elsewhere. That could change, but for now our country is not in a panic about it. While Boac crows about 1 death, he doesn't mention the 100+ deaths from regular flu occurring every week in USA.

I'll go out on a limb and predict the coronavirus will be contained and life will go on, despite Boac's desires while Trump is president.

Trump has cancelled climate change so a little thing like a virus should be no bother to him.

RIP Frederick Trump 1869-1918.

Early days Sir, early days. At the height of the contagion in Wuhan, China built two one thousand bed hospitals and drafted in thousands of medical personnel. One got the impression that most of those beds were Intensive Care units. How is your local ICU with six beds going to cope once the virus takes off. Surely no one thinks that the Chinese mobilised all of those resources just because it seemed like a good idea.

With all of those resources at their disposal they have still lost 2700 patients. With those seemingly cured becoming re-infected, does the virus lie dormant, or does having had it once not instill any immunity from future attacks. If having previously had the disease doesn't instill an immunity, then the world has Buckleys chance of deveoping a vaccine that does.

Sorry Ben, it's my belief that what you are seeing is the calm before the storm. And what a storm when it arrives.
