Whereas if it were an Ambassador from one of the 'western' countries; All we would see would be handwringing, lots of words condemning the act and that would be about it!

And some would sympathise with the perpetrator, saying that the west has brought such actions upon itself because the perp came from some oppressed minority/whatever.
