Sorry Cape, it was just a reaction to that mindless Socialism=Evil doctrine that is so beloved of those sheeple who can't think past the Capitalist dream they are constantly fed
Have a peruse:
and now for something completely different(Don't agree with it alll btw, but it holds some truths within)

Sorry, Bob, but the socialist dream is that which relies on idealist sheeple. Look at the demographics of Corbyn's supporters. Kids who believe they are entitled to suck at the welfare tit, who have never designed a damn thing or run a business.

It's not so much about socialism being 'evil', it's more about it being unsustainable, unrealistic, unfair, and contrary to human nature. Other than that, it's fine!

Reminds me of bear-baiting way back then. Colour is about the same, figure is about the same - mind you the bear must have had more intelligence.....

Socialist dream/capitalist dream, both as bad as each other and both followed by the feeble minded.
If you believe Financial status = the win, more fool you

The idea that Jeremy Corbyn or Dianne Abbott are better able to direct the UK than any of us here is way beyond laughable, it's tragic.

Financial status (i.e. wealth) does not mean a 'win'. However, I think that those who work harder deserve to end up with more than those who don't. I do not believe in 'distribution' of wealth because the reality of that is destruction of wealth and the removal of incentives for people to do better.
If that makes me a filthy capitalist pig then so be it.

What about putting men on the moon?, you do realise that was a socialist enterprise?

Yes, I also understand that whilst communism is malignant, and most forms of socialism are destructive at best, there are also benign forms of socialism such as that practised in countries such as Norway. It's more egalitarian than socialism.

There are areas of legitimate collective enterprise, granted. The rub is determining when and in what circumstance it become counter-productive.

In my experience, collective enterprises work when everyone involved is there voluntarily, and the person in charge cares about the task and the team, not themselves, and everyone is prepared to justify their decisions publicly.

Taking the many metaphors being bandied around to their logical (and uncouth) conclusion! My heart is black but my penis, unfortunately, is white. Does this make me an incomplete dick and therefore not a socialist as Capetonian, that lover of monochrome and chiaroscuro, would have us believe by dint of his earlier collective definition of socialists?

Attempting to, was.
The cover-up and falsifying records was a capitalist enterprise !

I'm certain an American stepped on the surface of the moon. No one else but an American has been there to this day, almost 50 years later.

Caco; Whilst I (sometimes) enjoy reading your contrary view on various subjects; when you resort to personal abuse such as your post immediately above you immediately lose your credibility. With me, anyway.

Sorry chaps. Post #34 was a wind-up, couldn't resist it. I was on duty at our Ops Control Centre during the landing and I know beyond all doubt that the Americans did land on the moon. Not sure about the B-24 though.

The B-24 was real, too. They made 'em right here at Willow Run, West of Detroit and 5 miles from my house. It was built by Henry Ford from scratch, in the woods, starting in early 1942. By 1944 it was turning out a B-24 per hour.
