I remember that route lining, it was in Whitehall on 15 July 1969, it was a boiling hot day and we were in position for ages in full kit, the route lining was for the Queen and I think a member of the Swedish Royal Family. I remember that at least one Guardsman went down but all Apprentices remained vertical.

Route lining story.

16th Entry B/E's were scheduled for the Coronation route lining and the Coronation Review at Cardington.

Did loads of extra rifle drill, in the evenings.

I went in SSQ with flu for a week, came out and everyone had gone to London without me!
So I missed the Coronation.

To add insult to injury, I was re-flighted to the 17th Entry as the powers didn't know what else to do with me.

Generally I don't pay much attention to the carrying-on of the Royals. But this particular hitching up makes me uneasy. I can visualize a lot of things going wrong in the future, mostly having to do with the philosophical outlooks of the parents as reported. I've had the same trepidations about Prince Charles over the years, which lessens my concerns somewhat, as Prince Charles so far hasn't amounted to much. Hopefully science will facilitate Queen Elizabeth's living another 100 years.

As Meghan Markle nears her due date . . . what her Royal birthing plan will entail. . . sources close to Markle . . . said . . . planning for a "natural birth," which we can assume means a vaginal delivery sans pain medication — a.k.a an epidural.
"Her mother is very into anything that is holistic and natural, and having been brought up with yoga and mindfulness, it’s all very much part of Meghan’s birth plan," . . . In preparation for delivery, Markle has allegedly hired a doula, started acupuncture sessions to "boost blood flow to the uterus," and learned hypnobirthing techniques.

To save you looking up doula:

a woman, typically without formal obstetric training, who is employed to provide guidance and support to a pregnant woman during labour.

Never heard of this term before. Guess it is American. If this bloody woman wants to be accepted into the the arms of the British public she should try to be more British and thrifty. Also HRH PH and or his aides should flog her into order. Just my opinion of course and sod my Knighthood. I think that the senior Royals are closing in on her. Now we have NR granny inbound to oversee the birth. I just hope that he/she/it is jet black.
