Best to let them dry out a bit as they are so full of BS.

Anyone going to Greta's rally in Bristol today?

I would if I were there, and I could start my dreadful hacking cough (not difficult) and send all the wee kiddies running for fear of catching the Corvus plague.

Reports are that the local Plod are very concerned that some of the kiddies may get injured running/falling/stampeding in a Haj-style crush, due to the expected numbers attending.

That would be very unfortunate for the casualties and a bad sales pitch for the campaign. What are the odds it’ll be called off due to EllfinSafety concerns and/or insurance cover problems?

Why can parents be prosecuted, vilified and fined if their child misses school, and yet the school authorities are quite happy to support children going on strike in order that they can listen to the strange and somehow sinister Greta.
She talks rubbish and is obviously mentally unstable and being manipulated by dark forces to make money for themselves, and instead of being taught how to read and write these wretched children are encouraged to stand out in the wind and rain, passing coronovirus amonst themselves, having to listen to unintelligible gibberish from a foreign hobbit.
We voted Conservative to stop this nonsense.

"Strange and somehow sinister". Very well put. She reminds me of the children in that excellent film, "Village of the damned" based on the book by John Wyndham "The Midwich Cuckoos."

Not as good as his Day of the Triffids. I think I still have my copy.

I was thinking just the other day that this is a film that could be remade and improved today with CGI.
The original didn't do the book justice.

At last it would appear that the world IS beginning to recognise the change in the climate and that we need to change our thinking on planning etc. It appears that in the UK some developers who are refused permission by the Environment agency to build on flood plains are winning an appeal and going ahead with the building. Hopefully these appeals will be stopped. That will be a drop in the ocean ( :)) ) in the efforts to cope with rising sea levels and increased rainfall.

She won’t be popular in Green spaces in future?

Greta Thunberg Bristol strike: Row over College Green damage https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-51696203

Does this mean an end to those pop festivals which seem to coincide with rainy weather and terminate in some farmer’s field looking like a WW1 battlefield?

Meanwhile, on a planet far far away from Covid-19, a little known film by shock-horror, a Left-wing film maker, is ruffling the Alternative Energy world which has, like every other industry been hijacked by BigCorp.

But maybe Covid-19 is attempting to solve the problem of over-population, to which is attributed our current climate and habitat changes which need addressing.

There follows a brief piece on the film so I'll leave you to ponder the messages with which we're currently being bombarded, including the nirvana of all-electric cars which give some owners that warm wet feeling they're in the vanguard of saving the planet;

Food for thought as you munch your biscuits made from palm oil etc... Relax, this introductory view is less than 9 minutes long!

It would be great to watch the expression on the pouty-face of Blessed Greta if she was lucky enough to watch either the film being discussed here or just listening to this discussion;

If any O-N members wish to watch the link in full, I recommend the hot bath, a bottle of gin and a sharp razor blade, having sorted the admin with your beneficiaries!

This one is hot off the press, probably as warm as the rising sea and atmospheric temperatures... ~X(

Boac; I subscibed to Time magazine for a shade over 40 years but let it lapse. Over the subsequent years I occasionally regretted doing so.

Not now though! :ymsick:

Bristol could be under water by 2050.
So Colston is just ahead of the curve then.
