Climate Disruption.
Re: Climate Disruption.
Club of Rome commie crap from the 70s... which I only learned about 10 years later in 1983. Thankfully all these rich old farts are dead.
I forgot to count how many times the presenter said “planet”. Maybe he was a fan of Prince Planet and Space Ace.

Where did you identify 'communism', Slasher?
Re: Climate Disruption.
In 1983. I was only 13 when that CoR clip and later OPEC nonsense started.
Re: Climate Disruption.
Having shown us the High Priests and Priestesses of Extinction Rebellion, they have now unveiled the ‘monks’ of this new religion. What a bunch of fckuing dills!

Slasher - I meant 'where' in the video.

I was about to post the BBC link but no I am on the fence about when people need to react. I am concerned about people reacting when another group protests or tries to protect its interest against the general good - but when you are delayed and risk to get the blame for that my tolerance may be limited.

The tube is just about the most planet-friendly mode of mass transit that can be devised. Criminally disrupting it is daft.
Re: Climate Disruption.
The report I saw about removal from the train roof is that the protester kicked someone in the face and then everyone else around decided it was time to respond in kind.

Re: Climate Disruption.
Watching the lunchtime edition of BBC TV news, their report said the protester was removed from the roof of the train and commuters "shouted" at him. From the video of the incident, it looked like it was fists and boots doing the shouting.
ER are reported to be "having a period of reflection"** before they decide on their next round of protests.
** A lot of their activists have suddenly remembered that they have an important, unavoidable appointment somewhere else on that day.

It's always my fault - SWMBO
Re: Climate Disruption.
They can protest all they like by shouting and gluing themselves to things in Trafalgar Square or other places like London parks, but stopping people getting to work has produced a result that has put the wind up them. Good.

It is always interesting how some might guys change their tune when they are confronted by those they annoy cause harm to.
FD2 not just work- any movement is important enough not be disturbed particularly if the people suffering can't do nothing about it.

Practice run for BRINO riots....?
Re: Climate Disruption.
RiS - yes I think most people would be more than a little upset if the annual, much needed holiday was ruined by them. Flying off to a wedding or the funeral of a loved one? - bow to the more important cause.
As ever I wish they would sneek into the major polluting countries in small groups, assemble en masse and do their demonstrating there. I'm sure they would be warmly received and cheered to the rafters - in the local jails and hospitals.

But they get that warm wet feeling they’re doing good for the planet, being seen as concerned and caring, maybe friends & relatives will see them on TV, war stories to recount at the next meatfest dinner party and on with everyday routine.
Obviously few if any have looked at the pie chart of the major culprits and thought about screwing them over? Probably ‘cos the reaction in those countries would be more assertive.......

Re: Climate Disruption.
Isn't that what the pair or terorrists who tried to bomb Glasgow airport discovered when the irate locals worked them over?
Re: Climate Disruption.
Yes - there's something very satisfying about instant Karma, in the right circumstances. The one who died also got a sharp kick in the nuts from a concerned citizen helping the polis. Hope it ruined his ardour when he met his virgin rewards in Heaven.
