She's not 'nuts', she's 'Aspergers'. I'm not implying that I agree with her, but they are highly intelligent, motivated, and single-minded people who might do better in life if people took their views more seriously.

I thought I was also making the point she wasn't nuts.
e.g. my post #287
Personally I view Ms Thunberg as a good thing. Governments have been pushing apocalyptic scenarios to try to persuade people in general to accept some change. Greta is being logical, given she believes their stuff, and saying "No, we need very radical change".
However, in isolation I now see my comment can be viewed the other way. Please excuse my lack of clarity, as I'm very busy at the mo.

It'll only be a matter of time before la Thunberg gets started on the Amazon fires. Before she steps ashore she might wanta take a glance at this. But I doubt it.

What's behind the current Amazon wildfires.

Currently 448nm to go, just south of Nova Scotia

2 or 3 days at this rate, winds look good.

More proof (if even that's necessary) of what most of us have known since day one - that the IPCC was, is, and always will be full of sh!t.

As GT nears the US mainland, it occurred to me there will be a media circus scrambling to get the best pics. How many helicopters, light planes, drones et al do you think will be buzzing the dear child's yacht? Will she see the irony of this cluttering of the skies just for her?

Oh, and one more question: on what form of transport is Greta returning home? :-?

I see the Trollchen has arrived in the USA with her family and staff, all of whom will doubtless fly home rather than sailing, rowing, swimming or rafting.

I was wondering about that too.

After NYC she's going to Santiago. I somehow doubt that she'll want to cross the North Atlantic in that sailboat in winter.

There are plenty of freighters and they can carry up to 12 fare-paying passengers without a licence, so I guess she'll come back to Europe that way.

She may be planning to stay awhile. She's supposed to put in an appearance at some climate function in Montreal on September 27.

Slasher - re your interesting and challenging video in post #327 - definitely food for thought. However, what do YOU make of the NASA results, and has he been asked this? He and you are suggesting that NASA is part of a global conspiracy - is that so? I believe in the clip he said that sea-levels have NOT risen more than 1mm per year, or do you and he consider a steady 3mm per year insignificant?

https://climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/sea-level/

I'm not wishing here to get into the 'whodunnit' and man-made emissions arguments, just to know whether you dispute NASA's findings? If so, why do you think they are distorting the truth by 300%?

Chatting to our Maldivian cleaner yesterday who said the he has not seen any evidence of rising sea levels in the islands during his lifetime. As the majority of the islands are as damn near sea level as you could get one would have thought they would have been under water by now at 3mm per annum.

Anecdotally I know, but the bloke lives here, he’s not stuck in an office in the States poring over theoretical figures.

So you also doubt NASA? Are they, in your opinion, part of a grand conspiracy? I think the Chump needs to be told.

You only have to see how the flag flutters in the breeze to know they were not on the moon.
