It's one minister airing her opinion. Not official policy.

Think it's manouvering and posturing in response to Patel's pathetic quarantine regulations.

Even if the Spanish allow Brit tourists to enter, the UK regulations will still demand that returning tourists self-isolate for a fortnight upon return. Even though we all know that the regulation will be impossible to police and enforce, and will therefore be very widely ignored, it will still be a disincentive to people considering a week in the sun slurping crap plonk and a beer called Corona.

I just heard that the Mossas d'Esquadra are stopping French-registered cars in Alt Emporda and ordering them out of the country. Hmmm. On the one hand, a lowering of the French presence is a Very Good Thing. On t'other, Catalonia needs their money....

There's something a wee bit clever about not admitting entrants, who may be infected with the virus, without some kind of control. :YMAPPLAUSE:

Nothing to do with the CV and everything to do with the fact that Catalans hate French, if possible even more than they hate inhabitants of Madrid. A few years ago a cousin of the Mayor of Roses found a man sitting on his favourite bench looking over the Bay. When he found the man was a French-speaker*, he threw him off the bench, chased him down the street and killed him. Never heard any more about it: I think it was considered justifiable under laws about disposal of rubbish.

* Sadly he turned out to be Belgian.

It's now a legal requirement in Spain (or possibly Catalunia) that every bar, restaurant, shop, or supermarket etc (a) records the name address and phone number of every customer, and (b) informs them immediately if any one has tested positive for CV. Imagine, tens of thousands of frogs, woppos, cloggies, rosbifs and krauts pouring into the supermarket and being stopped at the door for their details.....

I have not been asked for my 'details' at a single place so far. Nor has anyone else...

Politicians skirting the old old problem. Want the tourist money without the tourists. Lots of Belgians this July as well as French. Sensible thing to do would be close the border now. But every hotel, camping-place, restaurant and bar owner would be up in arms - and not vote for the political party that backed such an idea. So the great unwashed pour into Spain, infect the locals, who then infect the next batch of tourists, who take it back home.

What a stupid idea Schengen was.....

Went into Figueras this morning to collect wife's lenses. Figueras is not in 'lockdown' but is in 'special measures' with kid's swings chained up, half the tables removed from café terraces and the like, gyms closed and other pathetic half measures, instead of going whole hog or rather whole frog and shooting all the tourists.

Spanish howling in rage at iniquity of British quarantine restrictions. If they got themselves in order wouldn't be necessary. Personally I'd stop all travel to Catalunia and make the border one-way, because as things are, the Spanish are going to infect the rest of Europe (except the UK).

Enough fascists and national socialists here already, running the country by remote control. Inasmuch as anyone is.

Here in New South Wales returning residents are forced into 14 day quarantine which the State goverment enforce, they are put up in 3, 4, 5 star hotels which the Sate was paying for.The hotel payment by the State has finished as at the start of the month and traveller''s are still required to hotel isolate , they now have to pick up their own costs for the 14 days, reason being Goverment said that they had been footing the bill since March to End of June which they said was long enough for residents to have organised to get home.Police and Army enforce the lockdown,if the returning person break the lockdown they have their quarantine extended by a furthe 14 days.Cost for the 14 day stay is approx $5000 for a family of Mum,Dad and 2 kids.Every day the stats record that at least 6 to 8 of the reported cases for the last 24 hours were people in quarantine,so at least it works i n keeping the spread down.

Economy in Spain down by 18.6% and EU largess won't arrive until 2022. It will be sort-of a loan, not a gift.

Belgium ordering or recommending or some darn thing their citizens not to travel to the Barcelona region. French telling their tourists to return home from Catalunia. Remember, Boris got in there first !

For three whole days our glorious leaderene here in Jockistan was telling Jocks that it was OK to go to Spain. Then her hero the Wonderclown said it's not, so she followed his flipflop instantly and said it's not OK to come back from Spain (or England).

Izzit any wonder that the sheeple are ever so slightly confused?
