This is why she wants to have one before the next election, because she fears that they won't be in power afterwards.

Now announced Scotland will have its own currency before the Referendum. How that will work I can't imagine...

From today's Aberdeen Press & Journal:

Quote from Nicola Sturgeon....
Even though I have been in politics for a long time, I have been first minister for four years, there will be days when I think 'Should I even be here? Is somebody about to find me out?'"
Don't worry about it Nicola - we found you out years ago...and no, you shouldn't be here! :D

Now Sturgeon has changed her mind about a referendum in 2021 ....today's quote:
"I want to see Scotland having the choice of independence within this term of the Scottish Parliament, which ends in May 2021, so towards the latter half of next year would be when I think is the right time for that choice."
Obviously not confident she is going to win the 2021 election.

The FPTP system has a tendency to put in place supposed democrats who are dedicated to ensuring that the result of a referendum they do not win is not respected.
Same goes for the UK as a whole.

I think Wee Jimmy has been bolstered by the Scottish result of the European election.

SNP secures three seats.

So Boris wants to raise the threshold for paying 40% income tax to £80,000. At the moment that threshold is £50,000 in England and £43,430 in Scotland, but at 41% not £40%. That will be one in the eye for dear Nicola if it happens!

Will she leave tax rates as they are? If she does how on earth will higher paid earners such as GP's, medical consultants etc etc etc want to work in Scotland. Even as it is, in this 2019-20 tax year I will pay £1581 more in Scottish income tax than if I lived in England and that's on my state plus private pension, not a salary. I daren't work out what the difference could be if Boris implements his £80,000 idea. If the SNP Government don't come close to matching that I foresee a mass exodus to south of the border for those like me who are not tied by jobs or family to staying in Scotland.

I can't really see how the SNP could raise the higher tax threshold, their commitment to higher welfare spending just couldn't stand that, if they did match it they would either have to reduce benefits and spending, or of course become more efficient and exercise fiscal management.
I think that their left agenda would baulk at "rich" and "privileged" tax payers earning £80K and not paying higher rate tax, not just the money, more the principle. Of course Boris will have to explain how he can make this work in England, give him an opportunity to demonstrate to use just how much he is a detail man, or not.

If there is a mass exodus from Jockland it will just leave the eejits who want independence in the majority. Bingo! Job done and she’s a hero to the remainers (and Sean Connery).

She's a silly wee bitch.

If she pushes us who are in the top decile too far around the Laffer curve it will bite her in the arse.

It's trivially simple to register an English address with HMCR and avoid the Jockistani surcharge. She'll then not only lose the marginal tax, but the whole bloody lot.

There will be no exodus. We'll still be here, but we'll all have addresses of convenience in the land of the Sassen.

So how does that work vis a vis the Electoral Roll?

That's true, but if I was forced to sit at gunpoint and watch either a pic of Diane Flabbot or Sturgeon for an hour I'd pick the latter.

Last time I saw a pic of Sturge she was leading a LGBTI parade (what does the 'I' stand for? Idiots?). So I assumed she was a lezzo. But I recently read somewhere she's married to a bloke.

So is she normal or a closet carpet muncher? If normal than her leading the March was obviously for vote-catching or something.

She does have a lezzoey look about her but of course looks can be deceiving at times.
