As Wee Krankie and the Blackhead settle down for a wee dram this evening, comfortable at being perceived at being ‘superior’ to the BoJo circus, here’s a cold water douche which they should imbibe into their various orifices and try to reconsider whether they are as popular as they believe;

Yes, the main speaker is LibDem, but apparently been around the block in Jockistan and has a few home truths to dispense.

And Scottish Independence whilst grovelling to rejoin the EUSSR seems a major example of oxymoron and failure to take the long view. And I presume that the day after they vote in favour of Union breakup, the Barnet Formula would be shredded and the money tap northwards would be shut down permanently as the military came south with all their jobs?

I think you can chill on this for a while. I cannot see any vote for independence being called until the UK has left the EU and we can all see clearly what is in store. It may be, if the most pessimistic forecasts are correct, that trying to rejoin the EU might be a good move. Who knows?

Maybe Scotland can merge with Norway and join the EU when they do?

Can you imagine the Scotties putting up with the price of the hard stuff in Norway?

Norway isn’t going to join the EU, especially with Jockistan.

This is probably just for publicity but this Forfar pub's Tweets to 'ban the SNP and supporters' when it re-opens have raised the usual 'outraged' responses.

https://www.thenational.scot/news/18567 ... np-voters/

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/poli ... t-22320719

In past Tweets the 'account holder' apparently described the First Minister as a “dog” and shared images of Sturgeon with a Photoshopped moustache calling her a “wee ginger wannabe Hitler”.

I wonder what sort of atmosphere there will be on the night they re-open? Better get the plastic glasses out chaps! ;)))

I think there is a battle in the offing between the Krankie sister and the fish man with the extra "d". He wants his throne back.

George will then sneak in and grab power through the back door.

The highly contrived and utterly bogus sexual assault charges against the Black Bitch(*) were very clearly an attempt by Krankie to prevent him from ever making a comeback. Fortunately the jury recognised that the whole thing was a conspiracy by his opponents within the separatist movement and that several of the Prosecution witnesses had perjured themselves. For example, two logbooks in Bute House showed that one of the witnesses was not present in the building at any time on the day she claimed that he had attempted to rape her.

Juries don't like being lied to by people under oath. The jurors acquitted him on all thirteen charges.

Krankie must have shat when she heard the verdict. She clearly thought that he would sink without trace politically.

The Party, not for the first time, is totally split in a fundamental schism of basic policy. Those at the top are in clover and don't want to upset the juicy applecart. Rank and file members want an endless series of IndyRefs until they get the result they crave.

In 1979 there was a similar split within the Party on the matter of whether the emphasis of the National Socialist party should be on Socialism or Nationalism. Salmond was on the losing side on that one and was expelled from der Partie.

He got the last laugh though, and became the führer of der partie and led it to a victory in the polls and thrashed the tired old Scottish Labour Party.

He may well make a comeback and Krankie now knows that. Her vicious scheme to push his head underwater backfired and may possibly come back to haunt her and may even destroy her.

Salmond is a truly great politician. Probably even better than TB Liar because Salmond can produce a soundbite on any topic under the sun instantly and without preparation. It will be snappy, concise and initially plausible even when it's actually total gobshite. TBLiar needed Campbell and Mandybum to write his one-liners for him.

A characteristic which Salmond shares with BLiar is a particular skill in lying. Sure, all politicians tell porkies from time to time, just like car salesmen, estate agents and other conmen. That special BLiar/Salmond skill is that they can continue to lie even when they know that you know that they are lying. Most Brits can't do that. When they are shown to be lying most Brits will dissolve into an awkwardly cheezy smile and shrug it off. In Nigeria and Egypt I've encountered many liars who have that ability to brazen it out and continue to lie even when they know the game is up.

Salmon's lasting legacy in the SNP is that he inculcated a culture of lying as a matter of normality. Swinney the Poo is a great exponent of that technique. He does it all the time. It's how the SNP does business nowadays. Krankie is actually a rather skilless liar, and it shows.

Black Bitch(*) is a flattering term of high esteem in Scotland. It denotes bravery and loyalty. It's accorded to anyone who was born within the town boundary of Linlithgow, as he was.

The rather transparent plot to stitch up Alex Weinstein did backfire, isn't Sturgeon now in trouble for lying to Parliament about what she knew? or when she knew it, or something.

Sturgeon's latest wheeze is to threaten to ban everyone from taking foreign holidays (including of course England)

https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/13153 ... ons-latest

There is now quite anti anti Sturgeon feeling in the more balanced press, The Guardian and the BBC still think she is the bees knees of course, but everyone else is seeing through her bollocks, this are comments from Scots after her announcement earlier,

One Twitter users wrote: "Sturgeon essentially calling the rest of the UK 'foreign' here which is rather shameful."

Another added: "Does a Staycation mean a holiday in Britain? Or does a nationalist like Sturgeon only count Scotland? What a shambles we’ve become."

A third person wrote: "Stay in Scotland for your holiday as I've f***** the economy!! Pretty simple from Sturgeon actually."

I fear the Express has become a joke.

Making an 'issue' about Scotland banning travel to 'some foreign countries' is totally misplaced. I assume that no-one in the Express editorial department has heard of 'FCO advice' on destinations. Any country is perfectly at liberty to restrict such travel if there are indications of an upsurge in infections and good on Sturgeon for being honest - a trait that would be welcome amongst our politicians. Even Bojo is now being forced to say it. The fact of the matter is that the virus is most definitely on the rise again - everywhere.

I have had a chance to review some other Express 'shock horror headlines:

"EU crisis: Chief BBC correspondent claims Brexit could spark 'Brussels breakdown'" [NB "A stunning prediction"] No mention of Brexit causing anything in the article, just EU budgeting.

"Ireland fires Brexit warning shot to Boris amid plot to use Merkel to unlock trade deal"

In this article 'Luke Hawker' says:
"There remain less than five months to go until the end of the Brexit transition period, which coincides with Ms Merkel taking up a frontline role within the bloc."

??? Which 'frontline role within the bloc'?

Ah yes, this is what I thought was the case:
"The German Chancellor is currently the President of the Council of the European Union and will hold the six-month rotating position until the end of December."

Is she then taking up an even bigger 'frontline role within the bloc' at the end of December?

What a waste of paper. Is anyone with an ounce of intelligence regularly reading it?

Yes it does tend to repetitively feature headlines declaring WW3, biological Armageddon and Princess Diane returning from the grave, I use ad blocker and pay no subscriptions so I am quite limited to news sources, a couple of Welsh locals, the Press and Journal and the two main free papers, The Guardian and Express, when I buy a paper (rarely) it is usually the Times.

Current monthly circulation figures out of interest are
The Guardian 126,979 and Express 289,679, as you remark, neither cater for the discerning reader very well.

The Guardian has an excuse - it is a left-wing leaning paper for the discerning left-wing leaning reader (or for those who seek to look at a balanced view of all sides). The Express cannot excuse itself.

I think that the news these days is so gloomy that neither a left wing nor a right wing slant can improve any of it. Dominated by Covid and Brexit, neither of which appear to be curable.

I watched Salmond arguing the toss several times over the years - he could argue black is white and still sound plausible. It was only afterwards when his statements were carefully examined that it was apparent he had been spouting rubbish. He appeared to 'win' debates because his opponents often didn't know enough of the subject and were completely bamboozled by him - a great politician in fact - unless you want to hear the 'truth' of a matter.

The Express is predictably awful. Every headline is over-exaggerated so that when you click on it and read the story you find that no one has actually been 'slammed' or whatever and sometimes, in fact quite often, the story bears no real relation to the headline.

The Guardian can often provide a good source of information to counter some of the other papers' hyperbole style but the 'opinion' pieces are usually the awful whining nasty rubbish that K&C used to send us links to.

I think the difference is that you might have a good evening in the pub with Salmond (you would pay for all the drinks of course), but can you imagine having dinner with Sturgeon, I don't think my digestive system could deal with that.

I used to enjoy watching Salmond on the telly, he could do the act all right, but talk about spouting rubbish, he was brilliant at it.
