Well, why not?
Fish senior now faces 14 charges, 13 of which are sexual in nature. In the meantime, he has, after being expelled from the SNP, readmitted, and having now resigned from the party is claiming victory in his recent civil case against the government he once led over procedural matters. He raised £100k in a crowdfunding appeal for his legal costs in the case. The poor deluded fools who contributed to his costs seem blindly unaware that they were also funding the Scottish Government's costs via taxation (for the few who actually pay any tax). Fish minor is now back-pedalling frantically while refusing to explain why minor and major communicated at least five times after the allegations came to light without mentioning the allegations.
Life here is fun just now.

I always had rather mixed feelings about top fish, during the referendum I just simply had the feeling that he was in it for the ride, lots of glamour, opportunities to be in the limelight, lots of expenses to claim, but really not taking it all too seriously, the second fish is much more determined and focused on independence, for him I felt it was just a bit of a scam.
I am not sure about conspiracy theories, is the Establishment trying to nobble him, or is he just a bad lad, who knows.
It appears that Brexit is giving the independence movement a head of steam, claims that support has risen to 60%, I don't know if that is true or not, perhaps the Establishment think it is time to give the Nats a bit of a drubbing, I wonder what else may come out of all this, it may be quite a can of worms.

If wee Jimmy Sturgeon wants another IndyRef doesn't she have to get permission from Westminster as they did last time? If that is the case, Theresa May or her by then successor should not give that permission until after the result of the Scottish Elections in May 2021. Hopefully the SNP will then either no longer be in power or will have such a reduced majority that any attempt at a referendum can be voted down at Holyrood.
Claims that support for IndyRef2 are up to 60% are easily contradicted by other unofficial polls. 5 December 2018 - 'What Scotland Thinks' poll, 51% would vote No to independence, 45% would vote Yes, 4% undecided....so if the undecided voted Yes it's close but not close enough to risk a referendum. It amazes me that Sturgeon wants independence from the rest of the UK but is willing to snuggle up to an unelected EU master.
Lets hope the SNP Government are also a little more circumspect as to where they lend taxpayers money. They have just lost the taxpayers' £9.5m investment in OurPower, an electricity supply company, which went bust last week.

To make things more fun, the yoghurt knitters, who won NO seats by constituency but have 6 "additional member" seats and hold the balance of power in a minority government, are demanding that fish minor add 1p to the top 2 tax rates in Scotland.

If, a big if, Scotland got independence and retained EU membership, would we need a hard border? At least the foundations were laid years ago.
Would the Scottish banks be authorised to print Euros?

The Scottish banks don't print notes, I believe, but can issue their own notes which are promissory against the pound sterling. As with other EU countries, the "Scottish Euro" would feature uniquely Scottish images. I think all UK banknotes are currently printed by De La Rue, based in Basingstoke. Might get interesting were independence ever to take place.

It shouldn't amaze you,
Charlie. Left-wing zealots aren't given to logic, as we know. Having said that, I generally support Scottish independence, as I do Brexit. England and Scotland are distinct nations and should govern themselves. The EU and British, regardless of the UK's ultimate configuration, will both be ultimately better off separated.

I love Scotland. A good part of my heritage is there. But it seems to me that over the past few decades Scotland has come under the purview of a left-wing, Socialist majority. To me this runs counter to the noble Scottish heritage of philosophers, theologians, and ferocious independents. My view is that Scotland has decended, mostly accounted for by it's leftward swing over the years and embrace of Islam.
