Britain severely condemned by International Court of Justice

What Britain did to the Chagossians, on behalf of The Empire, was ****. It really ought to be called what it is: a crime against humanity. The crime was perpetrated, not for the sake of the defunct British Empire, but for The Empire (the only one which exists and the only truly fascist one in modern times) to pursue its genocidal bombing of the Vietnamese people in The American War.

Of course if they were white (Y'know, like the Falklanders or Gibraltarians) there'd have been public outrage and Questions in the House, but they're not white and don't speak English with a quaint 19th century West Country accent like the Bennies/Stills.

It's good that, at last, there has been some judicial recognition of the human crimes committed against those poor sods, even though it is from the toothless ICJ.

Dunno why they can't be granted English citizenship and be done with it. The history seems to be a done deal. They appear to be a hard working specie and would be useful members of Pom society. They aren't bloody islamics either.

What happened to our sense of fair play I wonder? Does it only apply to white people?

Looking at the history of both internal affairs as well as our presence upon the world stage, just maybe, that sense of 'fair play' was always - and surely is nowadays! - much more of a politically and socially expedient 'nice idea' driven predominately by the influence of financial benefit for certain parties rather than any sort of reality.

This is hardly something unique to the UK of course...

Well, I kind of agree with that, but on the other hand a nation is comprised of individuals.

If those individuals share common traits, then those become the traits of their Country.

I'm British, and retain a very strong sense of fair play.

It's one of the reasons that too much immigration can be a bad thing. If the immigrants don't share the inclinations of the natives, the national characteristics of the nation are altered.

No doubt some would say that would be no bad thing, but not me.

In this case we are talking about "immigrants" who didn't want to be migrants and who just want to go home.

They were forcibly deported from their homeland and rendered into misery. It was all done for the benefit of the rapine Empire of the United States and was done so with the very grubby recompense of a discount on batch of nuclear missiles.
