Re: Jeremy Corbyn defends Shamima Begum's right to legal aid
ISIS used to be their name, until some Oxfordians pointed out that the Thames has that name when passing through their bailiwick. Then it changed to ISIL.
The UKUSA/Yehudi nickname was adopted by the propagandists because it's a rude name in Arabic. Idiots, useful or otherwise, tend to use that name as they've been trained to.
Within FCO it's referred to as IS.

In order to avoid confusion I'll stick with the one which upsets them. Allegedly one thing that these nutters fear is being laughed at so I'm unmoved.
And anyway, what a name with which to credit a bunch of savages when it's original meaning was as follows;

The mythical goddess merits better treatment than what the FCO dictate...

Does anyone care?
She's really of no significance. Just a twitty wee schoolgirl who fantasised about jetting off to an exotic location and marrying a prince or a warrior.
She's a pretty pathetic trophy for a government which had no business sending British military occupation troops to Afghanistan and Iraq and Syria.
By making her stateless, the UK government has broken international law. That's not a good thing.

That's why she should have right of appeal, if the government has screwed up then they should be made to rectify matters.Undried Plum wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 2:08 pmBy making her stateless, the UK government has broken international law. That's not a good thing.

Ok.
I'm going to stick my neck out here.
Like most, my gut instinct is to say, 'to hell with her'.
But....
What seperates us from her and her like, is our law.
Abandon that, and join her shortly.
She was a misguided minor- perhaps only technically, but a minor nonetheless.
Perhaps better to let her back in- after all she's a wimmen-and thus (even in these woke times) mostly harmless. Can't see her doing much mischief.
Let her have her say. Listen to it- and make a decent judgement.
If we abandon law, we must abandon most of what we hold true.
