What is the badge?

#1 Post by G-CPTN » Fri May 03, 2019 7:25 pm

Both HRH Duke of Cambridge and Defence Secretary Penny Mordaunt are wearing what I initially took to be RAF 'wings', but in view of the event at Westminster Abbey (50 years of Trident) it is, presumably to do with submarines?

This is the 'official' 50 years of Trident badge issued to submariners:-

Well, it's a very smart little badge, and conveys a degree of prestige on its wearer.
Who should have earned it.

Isn't there a law against that sort of thing now?
There is in Canada. Goodness knows, our PM likes photo-ops and playing 'dress up', but I've never seen him wearing a badge he hasn't earned. ;)))

Are we sure thaf they haven't earned these? I remember a very disloyal description of this badge.

However how can it be worn on civvy dress? Like wearing wings on a suit.
'Yes, Madam, I am drunk, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly.' Sir Winston Churchill.

"Like wearing wings on a suit" - I wear mine on my underpants.
