THREAD DRIFT ALERT ! !
Back to the present, did anyone spare the time from Friday evening's UK TV pathetic offerings to watch Andrew Neill dismantling the remaining 2 contenders for the position of UK Dictator-in-Chief?
I use that phrase as the current system of governing in Blighty has strayed far from the Cabinet system of debate and agreement to one where we've heard nothing from Mrs May/Maynot other than MY plan for Brexit.
It is accepted that president Bliar threw out Cabinet consensus in favour of "sofa" governing done by himself and a few cronies in the confines of Downing Street or elsewhere. This modus operandi has been continued by the Tory administration since Labour got the boot in 2010, since when "austerity" has moved UK closer to Zimbabwe in prosperity.
What happened to Parliamentary Democracy when UK now suffers from a succession of elected dictators?
Hunt v Boris last night gave me even less hope that either of these 2 could lead a scout troop to park a supermarket trolley in the shelters provided in the car park!!
:((

I wished I hadn't bothered but I watched both interviews with half my mind on it as was preparing dinner.

Who was I most impressed with? Andrew Neil to be honest. Not someone I would wish to be on the opposing side of an argument with even if I was knowledgeable on my topic.

I agree that the system has become dicatorial, May wielded far too much power than should be the case for the leader of a democratically elected party.

Of the two PM candidates, Hunt is by far the more convincing with his veneer of honesty but I'd still prefer to see Boris as PM. As Slasher said, anyone whom the lefties and liberals spurn is the one I'd go for.

As I see it today, Boris is the man of the hour. I predict he'll work well with President Trump, stand up for the UK, and drive a hard bargain against the globalists infesting the EU.

He may well work with Trump, but some of his own party don’t seem so keen :-o
Voting will close later in the Conservative leadership contest, with the UK's next prime minister set to be announced on Tuesday.
The next occupant of Number 10 will be either Boris Johnson - regarded as the frontrunner - or Jeremy Hunt.
The winner and successor to Theresa May is due to take office on Wednesday.
But ahead of the polls closing at 17:00 BST, Sir Alan Duncan quit as a Foreign Office minister in protest against a possible Boris Johnson victory.
Chancellor Philip Hammond told the BBC on Sunday he intends to resign as chancellor if Mr Johnson becomes prime minister.
Justice Secretary David Gauke also reiterated in the Sunday Times that he would also resign this week for the same reason.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Mr Hunt said the UK would develop a maritime protection mission with other European nations to allow ships to pass through the area safely.
The foreign secretary secured support for the initiative from both French and German foreign ministers on the phone on Sunday evening, the BBC has been told.
Nothing like a bit of consistency :D

..and the reason all the left wing media's sales keep dropping is...they are simply wrong far too often; wrong predictions, ignoring facts they don't like, and bad reasoning.
Boris Johnson will never be prime minister.

At least we have one (although no idea how he will turn out......) A few minutes ago the Spanish candidate for PM asked for support from his MPs in the name of national unity, and they told him to get stuffed.

The same may happen in the UK very shortly. A whole bunch of remainer Tory MPs have indirectly threatened it. Question is, are they all mouth and no trousers?
By my reckoning, they have about 11 Parliamentary working days maximum to succeed in a Vote of No Confidence, or procedural methods can be used to ensure Brexit on Hallowe'en if Boris so wishes, even if there's a later VNC.

Interesting that the present candidate for Spanish PM is wallowing in the mess left by his incompetent predecessor. Sounds familiar...

The lefties in the USA always promise to move to Canada - our population should have doubled when Trump got in - but in this case I'm grateful they are all liars.

I have reservations about Boris, but will be overjoyed to eat my words as we sail out of EU in October.

One enormous plus is that the Guardian and their equally dismal and whining leftie comrades in the BBC and Channel 4 have had it stuck up them, the Tories have booted out the most disastrous PM the western world has ever seen and voted in someone who has stated that we are leaving the EU and then going on to destroy Labour (what's left of it anyway). This is giving the most bias and discriminatory media outlets this side of North Korea a problem of how to continue their opposition with any degree of credibility.

Here is some dreary female feminist whinger with a double barrelled name writing in the Guardian, warning the article contains absolute shyte

You can see where KaknCrap gets his writing style from. Not just no original thought, but he even copies the abysmal screeching writing style.

The Guardian - Only 132,821 sold daily, down another 4% yoy.
Even the lefties don't read it much any more, because it's simply wrong too often, and the news it does print fails to explain what happens next.

Congratulations to Boris.

Now let the remainers shut up, and let our Prime Minister get on with doing what he promised to.

It's time for leavers and remainers to put their differences aside for a while and let Boris do his best.

It's what the majority voted for, and that's how democracy works.

If the remainers can't do anything constructive, at lease let them lay off the destructive rhetoric.

As my mum told me, "if you haven't anything helpful so say, best keep yer trap shut!"

👍Go BoJo!👍

(And as for Ms. Alibhai-Brown......Bon Voyage!😂😂😂😂😂😂).
