This is a poll. Who will be UK's next PM?

It is, and the tactic worked very well for the unlamented deceased, but not quite so well for the poor souls who were killed or maimed doing her bidding however.4mastacker wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 6:40 pmWhen a country is wracked in internal turmoil isn't the usual form to go and attack another country and start a war to "unify" the population and take their minds off the political mess?
OK folks, place your bets, who should the UK have a go at?
We're a bit short of possible locations across the globe at present, so the Isle of Wight / Isle of Man / Isle of Dogs / Isle of Sheppey , Holyhead island, Cornwall, when it declares UDI, likewise Yorkshire, or Rockall may have to come to prominence in lieu

Interesting that on one thread our Marxist claims to have a factual memory and yet here he states that Maggie started the Falklands War. If ignorance is bliss he must truly have found nirvana.

I didn't say she started it, she merely seized the opportunity presented by the Argentinian Gov't at the time when her own ratings were falling dramatically.Nick Riviera wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 6:43 amInteresting that on one thread our Marxist claims to have a factual memory and yet here he states that Maggie started the Falklands War. That said, it generally takes two sides to engage in war and conflict so in that sense she did start it.

So, if your territory is invaded by a third party, and you resist the invader, you've started a war?
Is that it?
Dolt.

Re: Poll - who will be the UK's next PM?
So you are quite happy for a foreign country to aggressively invade British territory with the view to permanently occupying it and claiming it as its own whilst a British PM sits back and does nothing?
Your mate Corbyn would probably take that line, but any other PM would, quite rightly, take all appropriate measures, including the use of force, to eject the invaders.
I suspect your favourite Tory PM would have sent the Task Force even if she was riding high in the polls.

I have to tell you now that no such undertaking has been received and consequently this country is at war with Germany
In the United Kingdom, only the monarch has the power to declare war and peace, under the royal prerogative. There have been no declarations of war since the Second World War, though British Armed Forces have taken part in armed conflict on numerous occasions nonetheless.

Hmm, let's analyse this further. 4mastacker wrote, "When a country is wracked in internal turmoil isn't the usual form to go and attack another country and start a war" (my bold). Your reply to this was, "It is, and the tactic worked very well for the unlamented deceased."
Ergo, you did say that she started the war.
The jewel in your crown, though, is this astonishing statement - "That said, it generally takes two sides to engage in war and conflict so in that sense she did start it."
I trust you have contacted all historians to inform them of their many errors because apparently Czechoslovakia, Belgium, Holland, France, Denmark, Norway et al all started a war with Germany.
I have come to the conclusion that you are a troll as there is no way that anybody on God's earth could be as stupid as you constantly appear to be.
Re: Poll - who will be the UK's next PM?
It depends on who is doing the invading as you should well know. I can think of two examples at least since WWII.

So for clarity, lest we blame the wrong aggressor, which countries do you have in mind that started a war by resisting the invader?

Why is this titled "POLL" when it is clearly not a poll.

If you look at posts 1 .&. 3 you will see that I wanted it set up as a poll, but was unable to do so, and have had no response to my request to Alison to enable the option.

I was not aware that Palestine had started a war.
As for Afghanistan you are having a laugh. Do you have a date in mind for when Afghanistan started a war.

I trust you are not suggesting the Jews started the ongoing war that we see ongoing today!Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 8:30 pmI was not aware that Palestine had started a war.

I believe a few hundred years ago, Afghan Wars I, II and III. Some country was always invading, always getting beaten, and when they were not being invaded they were fighting each other.
Re: Poll - who will be the UK's next PM?
Afghanistan has been invaded several times back to the Persians and Macedonians. The invaders were usually sorry they had tried except perhaps Alexander who married Afghan princess Roxan although it is reputed that she poisoned him a few years later.

If anyone, it should be the Israelis, not the Jews. Please differentiate. There is an overlap, but it is not the same thing.I trust you are not suggesting the Jews started the ongoing war that we see ongoing today!
