This is a poll. Who will be UK's next PM?
Poll - who will be the UK's next PM?
How do I create a poll?
I don't see the option anywhere although I'm sure it's come up in the past.
This is probably one for Alison to answer, please!

When posting a new topic or editing the first post of a topic, click the “Poll creation” tab below the main posting form; if you cannot see this, you do not have appropriate permissions to create polls. Enter a title and at least two options in the appropriate fields, making sure each option is on a separate line in the textarea. You can also set the number of options users may select during voting under “Options per user”, a time limit in days for the poll (0 for infinite duration) and lastly the option to allow users to amend their votes.

Thanks Ian, as I don't see the option I appear not to have permission, so maybe when daylight returns to the Antipodes, Alison will grant me that favour!

Cape, looks like Alison has reserved that option. A poll could be quite complex as we would not be voting for a closed option. Better to have a list of candidates and then we could pick one. If you were to let Alison have a little list

As long as it's not Corbyn, McDonnel, Abbott, Thornberry or any other of those who sit on the Opposition benches. Mind you, there's not much choice on the Government's side either. Perhaps it's a job for the head cleaner at the Commons.

Re: Poll - who will be the UK's next PM?
Penny Mordaunt seems to have avoided disgracing herself so far, I think that they need an intellectual deep thinker who will approach this problem with reason and foresight, but instead they may well go for Boris because they think he will pull the Party together, if they do he will let them down.
Rory Stewart looks rather strange but speaks common sense, who knows, if they go for charisma over IQ then we are stuffed.

We know that until there's an election the awful prospect of any of the above listed scum as per 4mastacker is not an option.
Thankfully.
If the new PM delivers Brexit it may stave off the appalling prospect of a Labour government.

Capes, I just have a feeling that we are in an acute state of insecurity at the moment, anything could happen over the next few months.
Did anybody think that we would get into the mess that we are currently experiencing? the norms seem to be out of the window at the moment, did you imagine that Corbyn would still be here after May had gone?

You missed Larry the cat. He'd be a front runner.
If Boris doesn't bottle it then it'll probably be him. I think Gove would turn out to be a fairly strong PM - you might not like what he does but he'll have thought it through and will do it, a bit like Maggie before she went off the rails.

In suggesting appointing a cat as Prime Minister I would draw your attention to Mark Twain's novel "A Connecticut Yankee at the Court of King Arthur" and his suggestion therein of appointing a family of cats as the English Royal Family....at least a cat would be an attractive PM.

And another thing.
I think we've had enough of girls doing the job, for a while.

Re: Poll - who will be the UK's next PM?
When a country is wracked in internal turmoil isn't the usual form to go and attack another country and start a war to "unify" the population and take their minds off the political mess?
OK folks, place your bets, who should the UK have a go at?

Given the state of the armed forces, including a single aircraft carrier with no skipper or aeroplanes, I would suggest Redonda.
Or, if a 'proper' country is insisted upon, then Belgium would seem appropriate.

Couldn't we appoint a Pole?
They seem capable of doing most jobs in the UK.
OTOH, what about Anne Widdecombe?
She is, apparently, a Privy Councillor
