If BJ genuinely wants a No Deal Brexit, it should be easy for him to fix.
Parliament rises on July 25th, the day after Boris would be declared PM (assuming he wins).
It does not sit again until 3rd September. It rises again on 12th September for the party conference season. September 11th is the last date on which a Vote of No Confidence could trigger a GE before October 31st, based on Boris using up the entire allowed 14 days to pretend to cobble together a coalition which can command a majority before Parliament is dissolved, after which there are 25 working days before a GE.
That said, GEs are traditionally always held on a Thursday, which Oct 31st is. Therefore, since the election is actually held on the day declared by the Sovereign, upon the recommendation of the PM, it would seem likely that the latest a Vote of No Confidence might put someone in power who could stop the GE is in practice Wed 4th September. This would be in the middle of discussion of the Queen's Speech. So, all Boris has to do is to schedule talks with the EU for the week of Sept 9th, reporting back to Parliament late on the 12th, which is what one would expect him to do whatever his intentions, and there's zero chance of stopping a No Deal Brexit, if that is really what BJ wants.

Jeremy Hunt has said the next prime minister should be someone who is trustworthy, otherwise the UK risks a general election and no Brexit.
In an interview with the BBC, the foreign secretary said the ability to negotiate a new Brexit deal "is about the personality of the prime minister".
"I do believe I can be trusted to deliver this deal," he said.
Mr Hunt said he would leave the EU without a deal, but not if there was a "prospect of a better deal".
He and Boris Johnson are competing to take over from Theresa May, with the winner of the contest due to enter Number 10 on 24 July.

No problem with that at all, what he means is that he will do anything, however detrimental to the UK, in order to keep the Tories in power. If we are not out with conditions that are favourable to the UK at the end of October we will be up for a general election.
The only two Parties that have given clear indications on their Brexit policy are the Liberal Democrats (remain) and the Brexit Party (leave).
The Tories claim to be leave supporting but are remain supporting really, and Labour supports leave/remain/status quo/change and don't know.

Boris is coming across as someone who has seriously lost the plot and wishes that he was anywhere else other than being forced into the position of Prime Minister, lets say that he is cleaver enough to realise that he can't deliver what he has promised and has no idea of how he can extricate himself.

That's about the truth of it and will be others directing the course of Brexit regardless of anything Boris says

Yes, I have read that this is the plan, however it is traditional that the Prime Minister and his/her spouse joins the Queen in September and stays on holiday with them at Sandringham or Balmoral or wherever, and that this is under question.

Rather academic, if Boris does reluctantly become PM in July there is little chance of him still being in place in September. This gives the interesting thought that Gyppo Corbyn may be in the position of being invited, I wonder if he would go? it is a bit two faced to take all our savings and pensions to fund his extravagant 1920 Leninist plans and still go on holiday with the Queen, breakfast small talk would be interesting.
