I realize this isn't the standard for normal border crossings, yet. But of course border officials can already ask for anything they deem "appropriate". Guess how long those of us who say we have no social media presence at all will be delayed? ;)))
As if I didn't already have enough reasons not to visit the US.

I'm quite happy to give the US border guards my Ops Normal login for their examinations, I have always been most complementary about Mr Trump and his policies, not to mention his impressive hairstyle, boac on the other hand may receive a rubber glove moment.
But as I have no intention of ever returning to the States it doesn't matter, but does go to show how absolutely awful the 21st century is becoming.

I'd say what the unwashed herd uses mate - Faecesbook Twatter and Shitstagram. I've never been a member of any of 'em. I don't think Ops-N counts as no one here uses their real name.

Haven't been to the States for a while and even then it was only to buy some gold bars and take it up to CYVR. If I need to go back I'm clean as far as the latest INGSOC program is concerned. Even then I'd visit the embassy well before the trip to ensure there'd be no delay.

Is it deemed to be socmed?

We used it this morning as a Skype alternative to speak to family in Oz.

WhatsApp is a flag as it's encrypted.

Linkln has your name etc, I guess they can call that socmed. If mumsnet, grannet are, even though they use pseudonyms, so are TOP and Op, how about Trip Advisor, Trust what's it and so on.

If you are active on political sites.

Anyone know if this only applies to full-blown visas or will the tourist ESTA application also require disclosure of all the kids' socialmeeja data when visiting Disneyland?

Sigh of relief for the Immigration operatives at Stanstead as he's got dip status so they won't have to trawl through his Twitter account and postings? #:-S

A woman in the UK was arrested by police after she filmed a video inside an almost completely empty hospital and posted it online.

The clip shows the woman walking through virtually empty corridors and filming empty wards at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

“This is a disgrace… it is so dead… all the people in our country desperately waiting for treatment, cancer treatment, heart disease, honestly this is making me so angry,” she states as she films a row of empty waiting chairs.

The woman expressed shock at how quiet the hospital was, saying she expected there to be “a few more people around, there’s absolutely nobody”.

According to reports, a 46 year-old woman was subsequently arrested by police for filming the video and has been charged on suspicion of a public order offence.

“The woman has been bailed to return to police on January 21st, with conditions that she cannot enter any NHS premises or the grounds of any such premises, unless in the case of an emergency or to attend a pre-arranged NHS appointment,” said a statement by Gloucestershire Police. [-X ~X( X(

The video may be viewable here for some:

NHS bosses in Gloucestershire have denied that their hospitals are empty, after footage was shared online suggesting this is the case.

One of the videos - reportedly filmed on Sunday 27 December - was initially posted on Facebook, but can now be found on a conspiracy theory website.

Seems unfair to brand O-N that way - did you get much Peanut Butter for Christmas?

I can still smell the peanut butter, or at least the contents of the roasted salted whole peanuts jar, so I don't think I'm just into the Alzheimers region yet.

If the video was all a spoof and a conspiracy website construction, then why did Glos plod become involved and dream up a Public Order charge, or was that also a spoof? :-?

Probably because the perpetrator could have endangered many people by wandering aimlessly around the hospital and probably breached C20 'guidelines' if not regulations? Alternatively the Hospital managers are all lying. I assume that is your expert judgement? Do say. No grain of rice or postage stamp (used) required (to save you rummaging in your Christmas stocking). Just give us the benefit of your wisdom here,

PS No-one said it was a 'conspiracy website construction', merely that 'there' and here on O-N were the rubbish bins it finished up in.

Well it's obvious why she was arrested: She was walking against the arrows on the floor.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".

To prosecute that woman on a "public order" offence for making and publishing that video is absurd.

It really is Orwellian.

CAP722 has become a Frankenmonster.

Bruce Simpson says it rather well:

Here is the 238 page brute:
CAP722

I challenge anyone to study and memorise that book of rules in a week.

It even needs a supplementary 28 page booklet of jargon interpretation CAP722D

Just for info re UP's posts above this has come in today from the British Model Flying Association:

The regulations for model aircraft and drone flying for BMFA members has changed and we can now operate under an Article 16 authorisation which you should read up on at https://rcc.bmfa.uk/article-16 . The Article 16 authorisation essentially means we are able to continue flying largely as we have been doing previously.

There is however a small change regarding remote pilot competence for BMFA members as follows:

From 1st January any remote pilot of a free flight or radio controlled model aircraft or drone of mass greater than 250gm that is operating in accordance with our Article 16 authorisation must demonstrate a suitable level of pilot competence by one of the following 3 methods.

Have a valid BMFA Registration Competency Certificate (RCC)
Passing the CAA online DMARES test and having a ‘Flyer ID’
Have a BMFA Achievement Certificate that was obtained before 31/12/2020 and confirming to the BMFA that they have read and understood the conditions and restrictions that apply when operating within our Article 16 authorisation. (N.B. Certificates gained after 31/12/2020 cannot be used)

--------------------

There is a more restrictive Open Category for 'Joe Public' model fliers who are not members of a recognised model flying body. I haven't read the details as they don't apply to me.
