Re: The disgraceful BBC
Ian Paisley Jnr rips Faisal Islam a new one.
BBC presenter put firmly in his place.
I'm not a fan of Paisley but what he said needs saying.

Re: The disgraceful BBC
Everyone seen the BBC's "apology" for the Bashir cover-up? Despicable and shameful.
Re: The disgraceful BBC
No, but from what I gather they need to be taken to the cleaners.

Re: The disgraceful BBC
I'd have thought these were ideal grounds for the government to get a grip on this anachronistic organisation. However, I think little, or nothing, will be done. Bashir will quite rightly, be thrown under the bus and a veil will no doubt be drawn over the whole business. How is it that the BBC fosters such unsavoury characters?4mastacker wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 6:48 pm+1 OFSO.

Re: The disgraceful BBC
Alex Belfield is at war with the BBC, he is now taking them to the High Court (together with Nottingham Police) for his harassment and subsequent 5 arrests with no charges laid, Beeb is coming under fire,
Re: The disgraceful BBC
11 days to go.
Re: The disgraceful BBC
I wonder if we will hear from HMQ and Charles on this? A little difficult as they were also partly to blame for what happened to Harry and William's mum. We should hear from them.
As for the BBC, I expect we will see legal action from those defamed and damaged by the seeding of distrust. Personally I would like to see the actions of any senior executives in the BBC at the time more closely and personally examined and appropriate action taken. 'Messers' Hall and Birt, perhaps, for starters?

Re: The disgraceful BBC
This should be the end for BBC News and it's offshoots. Close it all down. It is no longer, and hasn't been fit for purpose for many years. The standard of reporting, presenting and editing is worse than poor. It is not impartial.
Immediate action should be to remove the BBC's Royal Charter and cancel the need for anyone to purchase a TV licence.
This is going to run and run. Major paydays for the legal profession are on the horizon as a result.

Re: The disgraceful BBC
Ibbie, just thinking back to the days of Angela Rippon and here is the News. You got News. Maybe not all the News but it was News and not opinion. You did not have the Newsreader interviewing their own reporter and asking for their summary which are views and not News.
News today is one of the BBCs main programmes. I look at the News room images that are the backdrop to the Presenter (not News reader) rows and rows of empty desks, escalators to different floors, the occasional person ascending or descending.
Oddly there is a BBC Journalist at all the places round the world where there is News. Actually not, where there is no journalist there is no News.
There was a volcanic eruption in the Caribbean. True, when new it was reported as News. Now it is not new it is no longer News but is there nothing new there to report? It is as if nothing had happened.
Waste of money.

Re: The disgraceful BBC
Talking of volcanoes... The Iceland Eruption has not gone away and the latest crater, Flo, is pushing out masses of lava at six-minute intervals.* Very spectacular, visible from the Capitol, and now causing problems to Iceland's infrastructure. Is it ever mentioned on the News? No.
* lots of remote camera views on YouTube.

Re: The disgraceful BBC
Is it required of a TV interviewer to ask searching questions that make the interviewee uncomfortable?
Re: The disgraceful BBC
This has been rumbling along for a while with Alex Belfield, however the Bashir case is giving Alex a fresh impetus,

Re: The disgraceful BBC
I just hope that any court cases seeking damages are against named individuals rather than the BBCorporation as they would simply soak the licence payers with higher fees or poorer programmes and more repeats.
Re: The disgraceful BBC
I would suggest a de-Lordship and de-Sirship might go a long way.

From my post in Chaos in Scotland
Someone hasn't kept up with the English News or thought it through have they?BBC Scotland was able to download a certificate and edit it to include a false name and the address of the BBC's Glasgow headquarters.

Another Eurovision Song failure. Nil Points.
Awful UK song. Weird voting. Another waste of money.
Yet again the buck stops with the BBC.

Re: The disgraceful BBC
Terry Wogan had it right, it's a joke. Winner buys the next round.
Re: The disgraceful BBC
Ibbie - I do not follow Eurovision - what exactly is the involvement of the BBC in our contribution?
